I have done everything by the book. Permethrin 8 times. 4 rounds of ivermectin for 5 days each time. Neem. Tea tree. Clove. Kleen green etc. They are on my face and around my eyes. Really bad. Oh and I am a nurse by trade. A skin and wound care nurse ironically. If this doesn't get better soon I don't want to live. Not like this.
I need help. I have scabies and apparently a very resistent kind. I can not get rid of them.

I had a very resistant mind to, actually Norwegian crusted scabies. I went to 4 doctors before the last one actually helped me get rid of mine and fast. I was so desperate, I was taking bleach and salt baths trying to get them under control, which was helping but, not getting rid of them. This doctor have me a strong antibiotic and a steroid shot in my hip that day. Then sent me home with 4 prescriptions that one was a strong antibiotic Amoxicillin 875-125 mg., and 3 other prescriptions, Val acyclovir have 500 mg, generic for Pepcid 20 mg., prednisone 20 mg., and doxycycline 100 mg. The Amoxicillin I took 3 of those the first day and two the second day, then 1 tablet per day after that for 1 week. No permamycin cream, already had 4 of those on 30 day period given to me by other doctors. It helped me a lot but made it hard to sink through the crusty scabies. This is the ONLY thing that healed me. I was becoming suicidal. Thank God for this young wonderful doctor. He saved me and fast!!! Trust me on this, it was the only thing that worked. I love ride, Clove oil, you name it!
Hi LindaCarole,
I'm a nurse too and got it from a undiagnosed nursing home transfer.
It's a year I want to forget!
Don't forget...
Itching is a form of pain!
I'd go to infectious disease at a university if I were you.
Keep your nails short! :-(
Make sure your washer puts out rally hot water and repeat. An extra long time in hot dryer also works.
The main point...
Pets! If you have them so do they so get them to a vet.
Best wishes and please get back to us when you find the treatment that worked.
God Bless,
:-)
PS... Your skin will be very dry after this is resolved and you know what?
Dry skin causes itching too!
Use a very good moisturizer until you are back to your baseline.
are you in direct contact with any animals or other people? Wondering if someone around you is reinfecting you.
hi -- not been around any animals .. only people are the ones attending me at the rehab place and my honorary adopted son who lives w. me. we don't share any towels, bedding, etc. so far he's not come down w. it.
Hi Lindacarole.. I was just diagnosed with Scabies. My doctor thinks I got it when I was in a rehabilitation place around 2 months ago. The itching (as you know) is CRAZY MAKING. I tried everything before I went to see my Doctor. She prescribed Permethrin Cream 5%. Said put it on from head to toe -- for 10-14 hrs. Then take shower
After 6 months of infestation, I have it in control and it is improving drastically every day. Hang in there. Here is what is conquering this beast:
1. Moxidectin. They say once a month. That wasn't working for me.. so I increased the frequency
2. Albendazole 400mg twice a day
3. Borax baths with hydrogen peroxide twice a day for 30 min each
4. My lotion+ small amount of benzoyl benzoate+ permethrin. After baths
I had tried everything! Some of these individually. But together, it is doing the trick. The female can live for 2 months.. so I am going to keep going for at least 2 months. And keep a sticker lint roller nearby to catch those that dare to walk on the surface. Go get your life back!
Well, that extensive regimen did NOT work! But I have found the cure for me. I finally accepted the fact that my cat gave me scabies. And these mites were able to colonize on me for 7+ months! Once I accepted the fact that I didn't have human scabies, I then focused on treatment for what I did have. Most important step-Figure out which species of mite you have. If you don't know, there are many places that can identify a specimen. Google it. Good luck everyone!!
How did you test what kind of mite you have?
I didn't. My cat had it and I showed signs a month later. Because everything I read said I couldn't get it from an animal, I didn't believe it was from my cat for months!
Look at it under a microscope. They are worms.
Where did you get all those meds from?
Doctor only wants to prescribe ivermectin or permethrin
What degree do you consider "in control"?
