My advice is to ask your neurologist/epileptologist.
All AED's need to be reduced gradually... by week. I write this as someone who has been on many different AED's for 42 years. I'd really like to help you further, but I don't know your dosage. All I can suggest is you ask a neurologist who specializes in epilepsy.
Good luck and all the best
My doctor weaned my son from Keppra three years ago, and took over a month weaning him gradually. He seemed fine until he had a seizure 11 months afterwards, worst than when we was out on Keppra originally. Sadly we are back on keppra since then. He has been fine since then but are afraid to wean him off again. We are worried of long term side effects specially now that he is a teen. Hopefully your story will be different.
You must do it gradually under medical supervision with a discontinuation schedule from your DR.
My Dr said take one instead of two for a few days and then drop that one and by the end of the week I'd be done.
I was hoping someone had done it to tell me that sounds right.
