This is a prescription medication only because there are potential risks involved, warnings and information you must provide to your Dr. in order to safely take Rizatriptan, again safety first.
Your Dr. should have explained how often it can ce taken and under what circumstances.
Call your Dr. or his/her nurse and clarify your doubts with your prescriber.
There are also interactions with MAO (monoamine oxidase inhibitors).
There are also interactions:
"Do not use rizatriptan if you have used an MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days. A dangerous drug interaction could occur. MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, tranylcypromine, and others."
