The first test I was positive on was last monday, March 5th. I didnt believe it so I asked for a second. Same result. Then I bought a take home test on the way home with the same result. I've seen all the common things that may cause a false positive, but nothing crosses with anything I take. I have taken ranitidine for excess stomach acid, regular tylenol, oxycodone(with a prescription). Thats all the medicines I have taken. I dont drink regularly, but had several Vodka and tonics 2 days ago. I stopped drinknin coffee last week to see if that was the culprit, but I came up positive again tonight. I drink a lot of sprite also. Any ideas?
I recently came up positive for methamphetamines, a drug which I've never seen, let alone used?

Sorry this is not and answer but I have the same situation going on and I'm in awww I don't believe it is happening although I have not done my own test I am in a treatment program and have been for two years and nothing now out of the blue baam I was also going to a pain clinic a couple years ago and the same thing happened... makes me wonder
I use to take ranitidine and that will make u come up positive
Anyone that is saying antacids cause false positives are insane. I am on a prescription one and before that over the counter. I take 2 random tests a month or more and never have come back positive in 3 years. Something fishy there
Yes, absolutely ranitidine (Zantac) can cause a false positive for meth in a urine screen. I discussed this with my CVS pharmacist and was advised that if I had to drug test to show them my prescription but now that it is offered OTC I took the box in with me & was advised to talk to my doctor to request a different medicine for the acid reflux. Omeprazole (Prilosec) is also known to cause false positives for amphetamines. Protonix can also give a false positive for cannibinoids. Your best bet is to talk to your doctor or pharmacist and let whomever does your drug screen know exactly what your taking! Good luck!
I can 100% give you the culprit..
Your stomach medicine RANITIDINE
I get dropped ever three weeks at my pain management.. I also take RANITIDINE.. happens every time .. hope this helps..
Is that with all stomach medicines?
Ranitidine (zantac) can cause a false positive for amphetamine/methamphetamine.
I know it sounds crazy but experienced this problem. Is there anyone who wants to do you in and could possibly be poisoning you without your knowledge? My ex hubby did it to Mr to get custody and win the divorce. In the end he lost, I won and it couldn't be proven. However, the narcissist he is bragged about it and I found out.
how did he do that?
Do you live in a place where they have labs set up? It can be in the air.
I recently had the same problem... ranitidine, especially when combined with either Lyrica or Metformin ... will cause a BIG positive.
Ranitidine 150 mg or more will cause a false positive! they will need to run a EMIT test to see that it is a over the counter drug!
See: https://www.drugs.com/article/false-positive-drug-tests.html
I take ranitidine 150 mg twice daily. I had a drug test that came back as meth and I do not use it at all> I would like to know if this drug is causing me to fail my drug test?
Ranitidine will give false positive for meth. Tagament will give false positive for pcp. Absolutely
I just now saw your question. I am thinking outside the box a bit, but I know that people mainly smoke meth indoors because there can't be wind or a breeze. I also know that people use public and work restrooms to smoke meth. Furthermore, the smoke from meth has a very faint odor so it is often unnoticed by smell. The smoke also dissipates in color or clarity quickly so it is often unnoticed visually.
Perhaps it's possible that you have been present in a public place (like a restroom or small office space/house) where someone either was or had smoked meth and you inhaled it without realizing it (how would you ever even know). I don't know how much it takes to test positive, but regardless, you may have had contact with it repeatedly or on a regular bases for an unknown amount of time.
Just food for thought. I hope everything works out for you.
No. That would be retarded.
Thank you for your comment I really don't know maybe it was a bathroom or something thank you
It usually smells like a burnt rock or a familar odor to the exposed nose.
sorry no one has answered your question, but do you ever take allergy or cold meds? they can show up positive. Others more expeienced will be along to answer your question more fully...
