As for HFCS, is the product Tonic Zero (Schweppes) a solution to that problem?
Yes, I have gout and was drinking tonic water instead of soft drinks. My gout only got worse when I found out that tonic water is made with high fructous corn surup, which causes gout. Stay away from products containing HFCS.
Gout is not a known side effect of quinine so it would seem unlikely to be the cause.
