Is it still safe to take benzonatate 100 mg capsules purchased on 5/04/16
Sharon; Without a dought, it is as good as when you got it as long as you kept in a dry place like the cupboard. Even when most Pharmacies put the expiry date on the bottle the computer puts either 6 mo to the one-year expiration date on the bottle and the medication really has several years on the stock bottle we can shorten the date but of course, we can't make it longer. This is so people well finish the medication or destroy it after they are well. Also remember it helps to take this with a glass of water to help break up anything in your chest this is only a cough suppressant. Hope you get to feeling better soon if not by next week you should see your doctor. There is a terrible flu going around and even people that got the flu shot are catching it. Good luck.
It should be. Most drugs are good for at least one year past their dispense date.
