I have not had a period for 4 months. After a round about way to get a direct answer from my doctor, I was told I can take provera 10 mg for ten days. I started spotting on day 7 and am now starting a light period, day 8 and also have cramping. I still have two more pills to go. Is this ok? I thought I wasn't supposed to start until after I was done taking them?? Also, does this mean I shouldn't take the last two pills?
Provera - I started bleeding before I was done taking my last pill, is this normal?

You should continue to take the pills until they are gone. Provera is a progestin, and is used in regulating a woman's period. It is not unusual for you to be having a light period right now. Finish the provera pills and this should reboot your periods to more normal.
Do not worry. This is what's supposed to happen.
If you are still worried, please call your doc.
Best wishes,
Laura
Ok thanks. It is now quickly turning into a heavy period and cramps getting worse. Still take the rest? Thanks for your help!
I would.
Just sayin',

It was a relief for me to read your comment. I'm on provera right now. I started it july 4, 2014 and in day 8 i had spotting. I thought it would be gone right away but i still had it the following day until now. Now is like a light period and sometimes i feel cramping. I still have 5 days to continue taking my pills.
Thanks for the comment.
It is a relief to read your comment. I am on Provera 10mg right now and experienced spotting and then becoming a light period. I still have 5 more days to continue taking my pills.
Now my worries are gone.
I only took one and my cycle started so I take them till they are gone and my latorzole on day 5?
I started Provera April 20th, I finished them April 29. I have had the worst experience with Provera. Horrible cramps after I took the last pilI and heavy bleeding! I am also taking clomid, been ttc for years.. I am now on Day 6 of my period and it keeps going off and coming back on! This is driving me crazy! First time experience and never again will I take Provera!
I too, just started my provera last night. I started a heavy period this morning. I was prescribed 5mg for 10 days..didnt even need to take 2nd pill. should i continue the 10 days? and take my clomid 5th day as planned?
No! You do not take the rest of the pills once you have a flow! No, no, no! I'm sure it's probably to late for those that posted but for those of you reading stop taking provera once your AF starts. No wonder I've seen so many bad reviews about it... people clearly aren't taking it right and it's causing them problems. I missed my period for 3 months and was prescribed 10mg provera for 10 days and my dr. Specifically told me to stop if AF started before I finished them. It started after my 4th pill. Everyone is different and some need more than others but please stop once you have an actual flow unless you dr. Tells you otherwise!
