I am a 31 year old male and have been put on imipramine and propranol for anxiety and headaches
I have really bad experience of sweating a lot when been taking my propranol twice a day
it is causing excessive sweating from mainly my head and face
even when not doing stuff it happens to me sitting and lying down resting
I suspect it is propranol that is causing this because when i haven't taking them the sweating seems to basically disappear but i still have heart beat of over 100 bpm so usually have to start taking them again and thats when sweating starts again.
Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience on propranol
Propranolol - does propranol make any one else sweat and is this a side effect?

I had the excessive sweating after taking inderal. I had many other side effects as well. I had a difficult time breathing later I found out that it was caused by pulmonary edema. It’s very rare. I blew up like a water balloon. Unfortunately, I have and allergy to the medication. All the negative effects dissipated soon after, it was discontinued. My prescribing doctor said it wasn’t the medication- that they wouldn’t be from the inderal. My primary and the hospital both agreed that it definitely was.
I hope that you don’t go through the same thing as I had and the drug works for you. Hopefully, it’s only temporary for you. I have very heat sensitive even though, I couldn’t really feel the heat in 100 degree weather. It helps many people. Good luck!

Hi, rangers!
No where could I find excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) listed as a side effect of propranolol... ironically, it is often prescribed to control sweating in anxiety disorders.
Imipramine on the other hand lists this as a common side effect but that wouldn't account for why it stops when you don't take the propranolol.
I'd talk to your doctor about this and get a professional opinion. Perhaps you might need to change one or the other medication?
I'm sorry I can't be of more help.
