I have high blood pressure and my heart rate is always high every time I see a dr of any kind. I also have anxiety. I stress. The last couple days I’ve been having twitching on my upper lip & calves. Starting tomorrow I start propranolol. Hoping it helps. My anxiety also keeps me awake. So being stressed and really tired from lack of sleep I hope this medication helps all around. I want to believe the twitching is caused by stress. I am under a lot of stress. Praying for it to work. I need sleep for work and my well-being. Anyone else deal with this?

Also I was wondering what times of the day do you take yours?

So sorry about your issues. I take metoprolol ER for high BP and lisinopril. One in am and one in pm just to spread it out. Metoprolol, I believe, is in the same class as propranolol. beta blockers. My drugs have side effects like being tired and lightheadedness. No fun
does prednisone cause loss of taste of food?
Propranolol will be the best medication you’ve ever taken. It works very well for all of the conditions you mentioned. I’ve been taking it for a few years now and it really just helps “slow things down”. I’ve been where you’re at. I had calf twitches, lip twitches, and eyelid twitches. It’s like a vicious cycle, My heart rate would go up, my blood pressure would follow, and then my anxiety would kick in. Propranolol will stop that whole cycle. It may take some experimentation to get the dose dialed in. I take a small dose of 10mg twice a day. My wife takes it for migraine prevention, but she takes a much higher dosage. It’s a very well tolerated drug that has been around for over 50 years. We’re all different, but I hope this helps you. Better living through chemistry I say! Good luck to you!
Thank you. Fingers crossed. I’ve been under a lot of stress so thinking it’s the cause. Also anxiety can be very high at times. No other symptoms.
I also will be taking 10 mg twice a day. Assuming morning and late afternoon.
Of course my anxiety is up with this going on. Worried about not sleeping enough. Ugh!!
I take mine at 10am and 10pm. It definitely helps me sleep. I initially took at 8am and 8pm but I was too groggy in the morning. I had tried so many other medications before I tried propranolol, and it has by far been the best for me.
