Hi there ShopGirl. Yes I had to drink magnesium citrate a few times while I was pregnant the 1st time. My prenatal vitamins caused me to back up & I stayed that way even with daily stool softeners until my Dr started having only take my prenatal every other day. The iron doesn't like me apparently. Anyway it tastes better if its cold over ice. Warm it is the worst. The 1st time i drank it i totally thot it was going to give me instant cramps & horrible violent diarrhea. I was so afraid & expected it to just be awful but it was nothing like that. It takes time to work so i didn't have a BM til about 7 to 8hrs after the 2nd dose & it just got some mild gas like cramps for 20 mins or so prior to going. You can safely drink it & go to sleep without fear of having an accident. Hope this answers your question & you get relief soon. Take care
Mag citrate is pretty much dynamite, it should clean you out. It takes a while tho, it doesn't work right away but takes a few hours.
Thank you! It has to better than the constipation. Hoping it works by tomorrow. It's been nearly a week. I have a love/hate relationship with Zofran!!
Don't let it get that far again. You must feel miserable. I'd have to say it is better then severe constipation.
