Can I take over the counter acid reducer while taking pantoprazole?

philman42; If you have been on this medication for a month or two you should not need anything or it's not doing the job and you should talk to your doctor about another medication. You can take some Tums or Rolaids but keep it a couple hours away from the pantoprazole because it is timed release and well not work right if you take it to close to the antacids and do not take any of the acid reducers like Zantac,Tagamet these are all the over the counter medications like Pantoprazole. if it continues to not do what it is Call the doctor and let him or her know.
