Hi, I’ve had exact same experience and still dealing with these palpitations and stabbing chest pains. Cardio workup was normal even after an echo. GI doc just tells me to stay away from coffee and things that exacerbate the symptoms. Did you ever figure out exactly from the physician what it was?
I am dealing with the same thing after 4 months on Omeprazole. The anxiety attacks are horrid and I have pain and burning in my legs and arms. Just had a blood and iron tests done today.
Omeprazole should be out of your system in approximately 5 to7 days. I would definitely discuss this with your physician. I myself take Omeprazole and I find that if I miss a dose my acid reflux worsens and a stabbing pain right below the bottom of my sternum/ ribcage is one of my symptoms. I am not aware of it causing palpitations, but may be a rare side effect. The stabbing pain is nonspecific however. Something else may be causing it. That, along with palpitations would prompt me to get evaluated just to be safe. Could be GI related, cardiac,or many other things. Could also be a fluke with no identifiable cause, but best to err on the side of caution.
