Answers
Hi. What dose are you taking? There is a 25mg liquid suspension in concentration.
Regarding opening the capsule, you should try to swallow whole. Don't open, crush, or chew the capsule as it contains 2 forms of the drug: 25% macrocrystalline nitrofurantoin (slower dissolution and absorption than nitrofurantoin monohydrate), and 75% is monohydrate contained in a powder blend and it is made to release nitrofurantoin over time when exposed to GI fluids - not your mouth or esophagus.
Thank you so much for your answer. I will ask my doctor for the liquid form. This answer was very helpful to me.
I'm happy I could be of help!
