I got the implant (Nexplanon) about two months ago, and I haven't had any noticeable major side effects. I had my period on time the month after I got it, but now I'm eight days late for my period. I know that the implant can stop your periods entirely, but how quickly does this happen, and is there any chance I could be pregnant (as I have had sex without a condom, but about a month after I got the implant)?

You are about 99.9% protected against pregnancy with Nexplanon so it is VERY effective. It is a side effect of the implant to stop your period. How fast it happens is different for every woman. Some women stop altogether for a year or two and some have irregular periods and mixed spotting. The device secretes hormone slowly but usually around the two year mark, periods will begin to come back again as the hormone level begins to taper off (not enough for you to become pregnant, just enough that you begin shedding uterine lining again). Just enjoy the convenience of no periods! The only reason to use condoms, once the implant has been in the initial waiting period, is for STD protection. You dont need them for contraception-the implant does that work. No worries! You are fine!

I took an antibiotic and was then was sexually active, I have the nexplanon implant, but I am scared that I could be pregnant, I am two weeks late, and have regularly had my period for six or seven months... Is it likely that I could be pregnant?

For the comment above, you cancel you birth control with taking any antibiotic. Wait up to a month until your nexplanon is active and working again

Thank you for your information! I've had my nexplanon for 2 years & 2 months & awoke this morning with light bleeding. I was caught off guard because for this whole time I never had a period or spotting. ****whew****

Okay now I've been on Nexplanon for a year and me and my boy have had unprotected sex and since then I haven't been feeling well my stomach has been in a not I feel bloated. Maybe I'm only freaking my self out but I need some answers.

So I've had me planing for almost a year now. At first I had a continuous period for about 9 months. Seriously like non stop. It wasn't bad bleeding but it was kind of always showing up. Then about 2 weeks ago my periods stopped. I'm having a lot of symptoms of pregnancy. Tender breast getting bigger. Peeing a lot. Constipated and I feel bloated. I get light headed when I stand up. I'm really scared. I don't know what to do or if I'm pregnant or not. Are these symptoms of this birth control too? I just now started having all these symptoms about 5 days ago. I'm wondering if I should get the morning after pills just to be sure? Please help.

I have periods for a month or two then I'm off for a month or two I haven't had on lately just spotting and waiting I am due to remove it in march

I was on the implant for about a month or two no bleeding but my periods were extremely irregular and then I bledon't for 71 days straight like non stop... and was extremely irritable and got hit and cold flashe's and very dizzy. Then about a month after all the symptoms dyed down I stopped having my period completely but recently probably the last month I have had extremely frequent and lititle urinary movement's and I have gained weight, (98-115) and I am snappy and always tired, I have had really bad back pain, headaches aND nothing sounds good to eat??? Do I need to pee on a stick and will that tell me anything given I have harmonies being slowly pumped into me?

I'm on th inplant and I had it for 2year and I do not have no preiod and now my stomach is cramping so do that mean I can be pregnant and it been going on two weeks now I need answers on it

My implant expired on Friday that was my removal date but I can’t get an appointment until the 26th feb I had intercourse with my partner on the Saturday is there a chance that I could be pregnant

Sometimes women get the implant and never have one until its no longer active. Chances of pregnancy are around 1% with the implant.

I've been on the implant for 5 almost six years it took my body juice and drying it up I always feel pregnant but the symptoms I'm feeling is like I'm 6months carrying I only like it cause I'm fertile and it's been working. But my period is so crazy one minute I'm on for 3weeks next 2 weeks now 6 days then I came on twice in October I'm ready to throw the hole implant away seriously

So I’ve been on this birth control for 2 years and 8 months and I’ve never missed a period. I’ve always had my regular periods. And I’m worried now because my period is 27 days late!! Could i be pregnant? & I was on Antibiotics so now I’m worried. Does it really stop working when taking antibiotics?
