When in hospital for afib I was given diltiazem. I also have a prescription for fast acting diltiazem to use at home. I also find that a glass of low sodium V8 juice, which is about 900 mg of potassium, seems to help.
Same for me. Diltiazem will work similar to metoprolol with Afib. I couldn’t take it as it caused more Afib. Which it can do for some. I also
Drink V8 or coconut water. Or an ice cold drink
It stops mine. I regularly take 25 mg toprol xl. ( extended release) if I get Afib my doc says take an extra one or take 1/2 to 1 25 mg metoprolol Tartrate immediate release. It slows my heart rate and so far has stopped the Afib within a couple hours.
