Meloxicam - Has anyone experienced weight loss after taking Mobic?

I too lost weight on Meloxicam, my inflammation numbers were 3 times what they were supposed to be (I have Lupus and RA). My guess it was from the reduction of inflammation in my body, I lost 30 lbs in about 5 months, but I also was eating keto. This medication was a life saver for me, my right knee has been bone on bone for approximately 7 years, this stuff is keeping me from having to have a knee replacement, can't say enough good things about it...

I had a friend experience this when she took 2 Meloxicam for severe pain. Soon she realized that she was losing weight and she would lose 1 pound a day doing nothing different with her diet but taking those pills and the weight came off her stomach first then all over, inflammation from fat, I guess. She did this for 4 days and would lose 4 pounds, then wait a week and do it again for 4 days and lose another pound. She lost 20 pounds. I told her that you are only supposed to take 1 a day, not 2. That is too much and one needs to eat when taking this medicine to protect their stomach from ulcers. I don't know, this is all I know but when I saw your question I felt the need to respond. Since it is used for inflammation for pain, I am guessing that this type of medicine would also work on fat inflammation on the body, since it has caused you to lose weight too. Might be a breakthrough for a weight loss pill. Maybe someone in the medical field can look into this.

I have been taking. Meloxicam since February of this year and have lost weight. I thought it was in my head until everyone else started noticing also. I wanted to see if it is a side effect but haven't run across any information stating so yet
