I have Type 2 diabetes and I use meclizine(over the counter Bonine)whenever I get dizzy spells from blood sugar instability. It helps a lot. It should be safe but there are side effects to consider (drowsiness is something I've experienced but it was tolerable). If unsure about dosage consult your doctor.
One of the inert ingredients is Sucrose!
There doesn't appear to be any known contraindications of using meclizine in diabetes patients.
