I usually only take 10mg of the drug an hour before events; But this time I don't know the exact date of the event. It may be between 4-12 hours from the time you take the drug; I learned that the drug has a half-life that lasts for several hours; Can I increase the dose so that it remains 10mg during this period? What is the appropriate amount? And is there a risk of increasing the dose?
What is the maximum dose of propranolol that can be taken before my event?

That’s a tough question. The best advice would be to do a trial run. Try a higher dose (probably not over 40 mg) and see how long you feel the effects for. The problem is we are all different, what dosage works for one person might not work for you, so you really need to do some experimenting. 40mg could work great or could give you some unwanted side effects. Better to know on a trial run than on the actual day of your presentation. I hope this helps, good luck to you.
I have read that the appropriate dose for anxiety is between 10 & 40 mg, so I would assume 40 is the max. If you were to increase it, you should do so with Dr's supervision - at the very least, check your blood pressure and heart rate to make sure your levels are normal.
I agree. Essential to check your heart rate and blood pressure. I took one 10mg tablet then played golf 5 hours later. I had a fairly bad dizzy spell shortly after starting the game. My doctor thinks I had a bad reaction probably due to bending down when placing the ball and getting upright too quickly. The propranolol had probably lowered my heart rate and blood pressure but with getting upright too quickly the blood rushes away from the head and causes a dizzy spell. Doctor told me not to take any more propranolol. Hope this helps.
