What is the maximum dosage of gabapentin per day?

This is a very odd substance. I disregarded my epilepsy after 6 years of not having a convulsion and had a Grand Mal Seizure about a week ago. I am currently on 9900MGs of gabapentin. The last time I took 6000MGs and I was out but, if you have epilepsy there really isn't a prescribed dose. In my opinion if you have to take anything past 4000MGs you should be taking Pregabalin (Lyrica) instead of taking a mass amount of Neurontin instead. I'm am currently struggling with my dose of Gabapentin. I hope this helps, Epilepsy is very serious and I neglected it for 6 years until I had the worst experience of my life that I remember through and through. A 90 minute convulsion and immediately called the ER once I could move and grab my phone out of my pocket. Anybody that has severe convulsions should be on Pregabalin in my opinion. From what I’ve heard, anything under 5000mg per day is okay. I’m on 3600mg per day.
