Please, take it 30 minutes or less before you think you will be asleep. When I was on SEROQUEL, I had no problems. My night terrors stayed away & I could get a good nights sleep. However, when I had to change to the generic, it was a different story.
In my case, if I wasn’t asleep before 30 minutes after taking it, my nasal passages would close completely. I could not sleep breathing through my mouth. Also, Restless Leg Syndrome occurred, too, every time I stayed awake too long.
So, there I was, up all night, nasal sprays wouldn’t open my sinuses, fighting the RLS, to no avail. I sincerely hope this doesn happen to you. My suggestion is not to take it until you are, already, sleepy.

I am getting the restless leg syndrome Olmos every time but I'm starting to think i have some unique type of insomnia my doctor signed me up for quetiapine, Stilnoct,stesolid and melatonin. First i was taking one does of following pills and now i am taking all of them at once but nothing is working. Just laying on the bed having every energy i need to make it through the night and the day. But i cannot work from 9-5 if i have this sleeping disorder because when i finally get to sleep i sleep 12-15h and nothing can wake me not even a bucket of cold water.
Any one who's heaving a similar problem please tell me what medication/drug i should bring up with the doctor?

Hi, Heddi!
You'll have to experiment a little to see how soon it kicks in for you. I take it 1/2 hour before I plan on hitting my bed and by then I'm ready to get a good night's sleep. Just be careful because when it does take effect you might be a little loopy and uncoordinated.

Yes, that's how long it takes to become effective for treating illnesses like schizophrenia. It's used in low doses for insomnia because of it's side effect of drowsiness/sedation and takes effect immediately.
