Symptoms
No two cases of lupus are exactly alike. Signs and symptoms may come on suddenly or develop slowly, may be mild or severe, and may be temporary or permanent. Most people with lupus have mild disease characterized by episodes — called flares — when signs and symptoms get worse for a while, then improve or even disappear completely for a time.
The signs and symptoms of lupus that you experience will depend on which body systems are affected by the disease. The most common signs and symptoms include:
Fatigue and fever
Joint pain, stiffness and swelling
Butterfly-shaped rash on the face that covers the cheeks and bridge of the nose
Skin lesions that appear or worsen with sun exposure (photosensitivity)
Fingers and toes that turn white or blue when exposed to cold or during stressful periods (Raynaud's phenomenon)
Shortness of breath
Chest pain
Dry eyes
Headaches, confusion and memory loss

It sounds like I need to talk to my doctor because I have so many of its symptoms. I am tired all the time I have major pain and swelling in my legs arms and hands. Lately the pain has been horrible. I got pneumonia a lot the past few years till I got a pneumonia shot. The last time I had it I was on life support for 4 days. I have to use an inhaler all the time and sometimes I can't catch my breath. I suffer from memory loss issues. I've developed a studder. I have major bouts of insomnia and depression and bipolar. A few years ago I had liver cancer (which I beat). Now I have developed 3 strains of MRSA and on top of getting it I had to get the ones that are resistant to most antibiotics or the best one for them is the one I'm allergic to. I have no energy I'm in constant pain that sometimes nothing I do or take helps. I'm having major swelling from my knees to my toes and sometimes my hands.
I have some family members that have most of the same symptoms that have already been diagnosed with Lupus and I have been told it can run in families. That's it... I've just talked myself into definitely talking to my doctor and have him take the proper steps to diagnose and treat it if I do have it and if I don't have it maybe there is other reasons and treatments. I'm just so tired of feeling so bad most days. Wish me luck!!
I wish you the best of luck!!!
Thank you. I just want some answers. This came slow at first but the past year different symptoms pop up so fast. I'm miserable and because I can't do what I want when I want and constantly have to ask for help my depression has tripled what it was. I just wanna curl up in a ball and cry all the time. I'm on Zyprexa Elavil Celexa and valiums and it doesn't touch my depression. Anyway, enough boo hoping. Lol. Are the symptoms I am experiencing common with lupus? Are all the tests they do mostly just x-rays and blood work?
has anybody had a problem with cyst on kidneys uterus or any other from medications
I am diagnosed with Lupus and It's brutal for me. The muscle and joint pain keep me awake. I also experience mouth/toothache like symptoms with fatigue without restorative sleep. Headaches which will hopefully be resolved by neurologist with furicet. I get mouth nose sores that I controllol with homeopathic medicine (yes that ones working) I also experience anxiety which makes everything worse. If you visit the Lupus.org site there is a wealth of information on symptoms. I was diagnosed by my rheumatologist with blood work... high Ana and also "unspecified autoimmune disorder. " Hope this helps clarify symptoms. No one is the same...
