I have recently been having some pain that I thought was to do with my heart, but I have felt around my chest area and on the left side I have found a small lump but it feels like it should be apart of my bone, it feels very hard. I get sharp pains around my heart/left lung area at least once a day. just wondering if anyone would have any idea what is happening? Will be going to my GP next week.

My partner got a bump on his left side of his chest and keeps getting pains in his heart area
Hi Windy! I'm glad your setting your GP... It can be several things I've seen with patients, a bony cyst, nodule of muscle pull, scar tissue, cysts of other types... Sometimes later in life bony protrusions can develope... keep in touch what it is though, curious what he says, bests to you and ur health, Sweetie! :}
Hi Daklal,
Do you feel the lump and the pain are related?
Is the pain a deeper feeling when you touch the lump?
Any other symptoms?
Any major health issues like high blood pressure?
This is just the beginning of questions to try and figure out what is going on... Lol.
Seriously, you "sound" calm but are you anxious or in distress?
I'm not going to ask you your gender because a lump is a lump and needs evaluation.
A tumor "usually" is not painful so don't get upset now.
You may have pulled a muscle (or a virus) resulting in the swelling. Does the pain worsen when you take a deep breath in or cough ?Inflammation between the ribs is caused costochondritis and "usually" takes time to resolve. NSAIDS are helpful and heat over the area.
Or... of course,
Cardiac !!! If this is the case, you should go to the ER now! Dizziness, shortness of breath - definitely go!
However, anyone hearing left sided chest pain would tell you to go NOW. It's too important to "wait and see". It would be a different story if you have had this pain for a week.
At least, call your doctor in the morning and get his opinion because a week can be a long time with an acute situation.
I hope you live with someone to keep watch.
Please, use your judgement !
It would be nice if you would give feedback when you find out what it is.
Feel better.
No other symptoms at the moment, but I did recently the other day get sudden dizziness, cold sweat and nausea that lasted for around 5 minutes and went away, haven't had any other serious symptoms since then. Just an uncomfortable ache in the left side of my chest that can now and again start a dull ache in my left shoulder and back. I don't know if im paranoid about the lump tho because it is hard, like a bone but I think because I have been pressing on it pain has started to come from the lump.
Also I am female and 19, also forgot to mention that there is a dull little ache underneath my left breast, so of on my rib cage.
I'm so sorry. I took my Meds 2 hours
early tonight and I keep zoning out between sentences.
Please call your doc in the AM and text me later if you can.
Feel better
How are you today?
Of course , the dizziness and sweating concerns me despite your young age.
Do you work out?
I'm thinking about the lump.
You may have a lump that is related to your periods but it requires a doctor to check by exam.
Bottom line... You need to see your doctor to make sure you are not having cardiac related pain and the lump is benign.
Pressing on it may be making it more obvious.
Please let us know what it turns out to be.
I'm sending you positive thoughts.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. It's not black and white unfortunately.
The lump is dime size right below Brest on top of lung association of lower left lung pain and rash on belly
Hi Alli,
I saved your comment because I wanted to follow up with you out of concern.
What did it turn out to be?
I hope you are well.
