Flurazepam is no longer available in the US. My wife needs to replace it & wants to know the detoxing period before attempting to replacing it with lorazepam. She believes it's 12 hours?
Can lorazepam take the place of flurazepam?

It may work, depending on how long she has been on flurazepam. Slowly tapering off the medication is usually the best way to stop using flurazepam if she has been using it for years. Stopping cold turkey is harsh on the body and can involve some unpleasant withdrawal side effects. That said, everyone's body chemistry is different, so everyone's experience will be different. I would strongly suggest having her talk with her doctor to prescribe an alternate medication, or using the Ashton Method.
