FYI : I love Belsomra! It gives me such a refreshing sleep that leaves no grogginess in the AM. As far as Alcohol, I would wait at least 5 hours if you drink heavily. A glass or 2 of wine may be drank 2 hours before to get it out of your system. Not only because of the cNS nervous system depression, Alcohol before bed often makes your sleep not refreshing: very jittery after passing out for a coupla hours.

Update: I mean after Belsomra, as I'm not sure i made that clear. Proble the best time is when you're done sleeping

What to avoid
For at least 8 hours after taking Belsomra, do not drive or do anything that requires you to be alert. Your reactions may be impaired.
Avoid drinking alcohol. Do not take Belsomra if you have consumed alcohol within a few hours before getting ready for sleep.

With all due respect, your answer was not very helpful. I found that information in the drug insert. Your answer refers to drinking alcohol before taking Belsomra. I need to know how long AFTER taking Belsomra I should wait before I drink alcohol? 8 hrs? 24hrs? 3 days? Thank you in advance for your response.
