I was taking lithium carbonate for bipolar disorder. I was wondering how long does it take to get it out of your system? I was taking 600 mg for a month and stopped about a month ago.

Because of lithium's half life of 24hrs it would take approximately 5 days after your last dose for the drug to completely clear your system.
Regards,
Thank you for the info. I tapered down from 900 mgs, now at 300 mgs. I am waiting for the edema, dry skin, hair loss and extreme dry mouth to start clearing up. Should be soon, I hope!
