Gabapentin, marketed by pfizero as Neurontin is a safe, anticonvulsant, it is believed to work by modulating and while it is a decent anticonvulsant, it takes approx. 3 weeks to build a therapeutic blood level.
Now regarding neuropathy, the manufacturer has been sued several because it was marketed for peripheral neuropathies, however when the research was released, the difference between Gabapentin and the placebo in double blind randomized studies, was not a significant improvement. This resulted,in the manufacturer being involved with class action lawsuits for failing to treat neuropathic pain, needless to say they have settled, and while this drugs going on I rare cases, it certainly not all it was advertised.

Hol' The Naproxen should work with the pain the first day or two take it with food to protect your stomach. But most people do have pretty good results with the Gabapentin and it could be a week to two to work at its best but as was said it does work different on most people but has proven to be very effective for most depending on what is being treated. Hope you get to fee better soon.
It never worked for me. It only works for neuropathic pain. Some Drs would rather prescribe gabapentin, a seizure drug, than effective pain killers. You need to call your doctor and get a different pain plan. If your pain isn't nerve related it's never going to help
When I started taking Gabapentin, it started working within an hour. But I'm sure everyone is different. I only took it for 3 days, because I could not stand the cotton mouth it gave me. Hope this helps with your pain! Let us know how you are doing. StarGlitter
