How long do the effects of 2mg of haldol last? Is 2mg an average dose? I took it for the first time today and it's really anxiety producing, yet it empties my head. Just hoping the initial effects will be gone soon...

In normal patients after a single oral dose, haldol/haloperidol half-life has been reported to range 14.5-36.7 hours (or up to 1.5 days). After chronic administration, half-lives of up to 21 days have been reported. It takes much more than the half life time period for your system to clear the remaining half or 50% of the haldol. Note this is for "a single dose' which can be a wide variety of mgs low to high.
