No, furosemide is a diuretic or "water pill" so any weight you lose will be water weight BUT when you lose the water weight, it depletes the bodies electrolytes (potassium in particular) and those electrolytes can affect how your heart functions. Unless this is specifically prescribed for you, you should not use it. It could become life threatening. Low potassium can stop your heart from functioning correctly.
'Furosemide' or any diuretic has no actual real weight loss properties. As the weight is only water, people risk unpleasant side effects like severe cramps or worse (see above). As soon as fluid is consumed, all that weight loss will be gone in almost as fast as you can drink.
so if you take the pill you just have to have a banana diet so u won't lose the potassium right?
Sportsmen like weightlifters and jockeys use it for 'weigh-ins' but it is not sustainable even if you take electrolyte supplements. Being in a state of constant dehydration is bad for your kidneys and basically unhealthy all round.
