Hello all. My doctor put me on Trintellix 10 mg about 3 weeks ago for my anxiety and depression. I had been doing well on it until a couple of days ago when I started itching all over. It is driving me up the wall! The itch is extreme and it is all over. I have an appointment with her this Thursday, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this? And how long does it last?
Thanks
How do you stop itching from trintellix?

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I have been cross tapering with my old medication over the last month or so and taking 5mg of T a day and just bumped up to 10mg/day yesterday. I had been a little itchy on my back for weeks, but never associated it with the medication change because it was in one localized area. But yesterday I was itchy in random places all over my body. The slightest tickle would lead me to almost scratching my skin raw. I could barely sleep last night as a result.
I am hoping that it is a temporary thing as I am really tired of changing medications every few months and am ready to settle on something that works. But I will definitely be calling my doctor on Monday to discuss it with her.

Hi , yes I’m having an itchy sensation on my upper body, feels terrible actually causing anxiety. Me > Trintellix 5 weeks 20 mg. Don’t feel anything beneficial as of relief from my anxiety or depression just this terrible itchy sensation. I’m hearing this should pass but don’t know how long I can take it. I wish I could speak to someone besides my doctor for support
Thanks
I started with 20 mg and after only 4 days had to stop taking it because my feet were itching so bad I could not sleep. Today is my first day without it and I still feel a little itchy but nowhere near as bad as the other night. I have an appointment with my doctor in a couple of days to discuss other options. Just couldn't take it! Best of luck to you and thank you for posting this - I thought I was losing my mind!
Hope things are going better for you. I started on 5 mg. for two weeks and started itching the next day, mostly hands and feet. I am now on 10 mg. (my first week) and the itching is everywhere. Benadryl barely helps. Hope this is temporary.
Courtney; yes because your going in to see the doctor it is very possible, that it is the medication so let the doctor know so you guys can try something else. Best of luck to you.
Agree with Chuck.Always best to mention it to your doc even if you are unsure.

could be allergy! tell yout dr asap!
Yes I did too, it does subside. I've been at 20 mg for a few months and the odd time I'll have an itchy spot but nothing to complain about. When I had it like you it was bothersome tho, I hope you can stick it out and be itch free soon!
Thank you! So glad to know I'm not alone. I do truly feel it helping my mental state, but the itching has gotta go, lol. And the nausea is really hard too! I hope my body adjusts soon :-(
It will, I hope too, it took a long time I thought tho! I still get a bit nauseous after I take it in the morning but nothing like the first couple months at 10 mg!
I've started taking the medication with my evening meal and that has eliminated the nausea; however, the itching is driving my crazy.
Hi , having same problem with itchy skin On 20 mg for 5 weeks, started 10 mg 2 weeks total 7 weeks. I really don’t feel any benefit from depression or anxiety as of yet. Just side effects. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much
Gary
