I hope all you sufferers read what I have to say because it is nothing like what others are saying. My symptoms came on over several years. The first was a sudden onslaught of itching that sent me to the ER. It did not recur for two years. The next thing was a few red spots on my chest that moved around and actually grew to the size of a quarter in a matter of a week or two. Just as I decided to see a doctor, it disappeared never to return. Next was a yearlong episode of red face, neck, chest, under part of arms, belly, thighs. I always felt like I had sunburn. My face was so wrinkled that I looked like I was 90. One minute my face was smoothe... next minutes... old woman! Wrinkles were so deep that they BLED!
I knew it was an internal issue since it effected both sides of my body. Of course all doctors insisted it was contact dermatitis or allergy but I knew that was utter nonsense. I know my body and I KNEW it was my thyroid and it WAS. Since I would never, ever let anyone mess with my thyroid , I tried supplements and acupuncture. Relief was barely noticeable. Then I started juicing and within a day or two it was ALL GONE. I juiced organic Romaine, celery and carrots. That’s it.
It has been two years with only an occasional twinge of symptoms. Often I get a strange precursor symptom that is not a smell... but similar to a smelling sensation that “feels” and “smells” like dry powdered chicken feathers, though I don’t know what that might smell like anyway but that is what it signaled to my brain. So then I pop a Selenium tab or Vitamin A (which I read what I was juicing was high in) and get relief within minutes. Lately I am having unceasing itchy fingers at the first knuckles and a few times my ankles would itch so bad I used a hairbrush on them. Always happens when I relax in the evening before going to bed. Seems that getting in a reclining position triggers it. Weird. So I will be bringing out the juicer again.
It has also been triggered by a stressful event, once in awhile if I would eat something artificial like azobicarbonide (yoga mat compound... in other words... RUBBER) which is sometimes found in bread. (It was added as a conditioner that would not be so hard on commercial bread kneading machines). Sigh.
Since then I have learned so much about our body cells, and misfiring neurons, cancer cures with juicing and it is all so very complicated. I doubt any one doctor or scientist has it all covered. It is worth it to do some research of your own on juicing cures.
In summary... I would HIGHLY recommend you buy a MASTICATING juicer (I bough an Omega from Bed, Bath and Beyond about $300. Not cheap but it saved me!), juice a few tall glasses of ORGANIC veggies especially the green stuff. If you drink too much you will get diarrhea. Cancer patients drink 8 ounces every hour for thirteen hours a day. They need enemas because they ingest nothing else... no fiber foods. You won’t have that problem because you still eat normal food too.
That is my story. I think it will cure most of you. The green is so good for you. Even stopped flakey scalp and creases around eyes and mouth. My skin was like a baby’s skin that felt like silk. I am 66 and have no wrinkles. None.
God bless you all.

You MAY have an allergy to NIGHTSHADE vegetables, or at least a sensitivity. Drives my mom nuts whenever she’s prepping foods like bell peppers (or any peppers!) or tomatoes especially. I’ve cut up LOTS of tomatoes & once with LOTSA bell peppers — had a reaction myself. It was like my hand/hands were burning vs itching! Other common foods: Eggplant/potatoes. Also goji or wolf berries. But there are like 200 species, so look into this carefully/check for things you may eat! (Note that ALL HOT PEPPERS

I just saw your post and even tho' it's several years old, I'm hoping that you have found the cause of you itching. I have exactly the same problems - just started this past year. I'm 73 and haven't had this problem in the past. It seems that it happens when I have been working outside- I have noticed also that sometimes when working outside I break out in small red bumps but they go away pretty fast. I think this may be a new reaction to the sun. I have cats and dogs as well - hope in my old age I haven't developed allergies. Did you find the source of your itching? Thank you...
Carverlin, I have the SAME thing you do (by the sound of it). Sometimes I wake up with itchy, red splotchy palms. Also, sometimes I have itchy feet, but only on the sides or top, never the bottoms. Additionally, if I get even a little hot I get a red pinpoint rash on my arms. All of this came on suddenly when I was in my mid-30s about 1.5 years ago. Just for some background, I’m an avid runner and fit... but now can barely do anything because of this darn rash.
I’ve been to a dermatologist and an allergist and neither have been able to provide an answer. (Allergist said I have sever dust mite allergies, but doesn’t everyone?)
I have been doing an elimination diet and found I had some delayed reactions to gluten, milk/dairy, and nightshades (tomatoes, eggplant, bell peppers). Tomatoes are the worst for me... and ppl put tomatoes/tomato paste in nearly everything! LOL. If you do go on elimination diet, research anti-inflammatory diet... not elimination diet. Anti-inflammatory is much easier to abide by.
I also broke down and bought allergen-proof pillows and mattress cover. That seemed to help some.
I am also going to check my products for what the other poster recommended - Sodium Laureth Sulfate.
I think what I’m experiencing is an auto-immune response to being exposed to too many things I’m “sensitive” to. Sensitivities are tricky, because it isn’t a true allergy. But if we are constantly exposed to too many things our body is sensitive to, then the body can have an autoimmune response - rashes are one of the top autoimmune responses.
I’m not a doc, but have had issues with food/product sensitivities before... in my early 20s. I really hope this helps!
So many years going to allergists etc. I have an allergy to Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which is in MANY drug items including liquid soaps, dish detergents, shampoos, sunscreens, toothpaste etc. It is a contact allergy but will first show itself as red dots under my skin on the palms of my hands during the night that itch like crazy! This started 15 years ago and now has gotten much worse to include all sulfates (I can't drink a glass of high sulfate wine either)
Try eliminating sodium laureth sulfate and see if your itchy hands go away, likely you are washing with a liquid soap that contains it.
I noticed a couple weeks back my hands started itching and arm pits also. However recently more itching in my hands and between fingers. I woke up this day
out of a dead sleep 2:30am my left hand itching so bad it started swelling and between fingers small hives (on one finger) if I clenched my hand it was so tight as it swelled and burned and itched. I came online and read this and grabbed some ice it helped. I'm at a loss no medicine change when this began . It's started about six weeks ago lightly. Thought I ate something but it kept coming on lightly. But this was the worst attack! Very worried . I noticed last evening I had the beginning of the itch android I was sucking on a sugarless halls cough drop. Well I immediately removed it and thought perhaps this was the cause of my itching. So was please I had possibly found what had been causing this. So that was about 6 pm . Didn't finishing it. Then woke up middle of night with this attack. Any answers please help! I feel it comes from within.
Sounds like possibly Scabies.
I have had this issue arise in the last 3 weeks. I have not had any allergies other than sulpha / sulpher in products so I’m fairly conscientious of that. However, I may have narrowed this itchiness down to one or two issues that causes my palms to itch in the morning and random breakouts of hives on my body. Aspartame... and / or possibly laundry detergent. I rarely drink soda/pop, but I would have at least one or two crystal light packets in my bottled water, which contains aspartame. But there definitely is an allergic reaction. I am going to see an allergist this week to find out for sure what my allergies are before they get worse or even life threatening. Hope it’s not that bad, but I’m tired of losing sleep over this :(

had bad itch in my hands. drove me nuts. my dr. at the VA gave me cordizone (triamcinol acetonine usp 0.025) cured it in two days.
I also have severe itching of just my palms and my fingers and it's on the inside. I also noticed a few months back that I cannot feel my toes at night when I ve been up all day with no problems other than some days I feel I am walking on pads of water right where my feet have no feeling at night, sometimes during the day. Could stick them with a pin n not feel it. I have heart issues but not a reputable cardiologist at this time. I take awater retention pill each day due to kidney disease so it's not that. Anyone have any ideas??? Please?
I'm curious if you found out anything. I am having this exact same issue.
I have the same feelings,I haven't been in anything,it's like from within
Nothing helps, what brings it on?not the first time.No blistering,no signs of dry skin.
Hello
You wrote ",I haven't been in anything,it's like from within

I would have written exactly the same words you did.
It has been a couple years since you wrote this and I am hoping you have solved the problem and can get back to me with how you solved the problem. What ever this is, it is no fun.
Thanks
Hi, I am having the same problem with my left hand, an "itching within". It is driving me to claw at my hand constantly, with no relief. I have been put on prednisone and hydroxyzine with no change. So did you find an answer to what's wrong, and if so can you tell me so I can inform my doctor. Because this is awful. Thank you.
Exact same thing as Karans3127. I wake up out of a dead sleep and it feels like it's beneath the skin.
Regarding internal itching. I have had 2 episodes in my life where I had itching beneath the flesh so badly I was ready to cut it off the bone to make it stop. Both were allergic reactions that I wasn't aware of. One was from breathing in a ton if dust from gmo soy beans when they were being harvested and the other was 3 days after I changed my laundry detergent to a cheaper brand. Both were a nightmare. The soy bean dust I was over after a shower a anti-histamine and some rest. The detergent to a while to get out of my system and had caused red splotches of irritation. Today my hands have started itching madly from inside. The only thing I can trace it to is an apply pie I bought from a little vender. Ive learned this much about the skin in my many years. It is the best informant you've got ! It lets you know when you have something in your body that is not being processed right and so the system is trying to push it out through the skin.
Clean you diet up and get plenty of living water. If you don't have living water add some Himalayan salt to all your filtered water. Give your body something it needs not something it has to figure out how to get rid of.
Hi D.
One of the meds I have for itching is triamcinole and the other is hydroxyz. Their used for other problems, also. I think you need to see a doc. Itching is horrible. I waited way to long to see a doc, which was a mistake. I had deep open sores and I did what your doing. I scratched. I wish I could help you.
Please take care of yourself. Remember that I'm not a doc. He/she will have more info. Holler if ya need me.
Lore,
Anna
Hi Anna,
Are these prescirption or Otc meds? I am going through the same thing
I'm not home yet, but I did think of something a nurse told me. She said to use ice where you itch. You scratch with it, but it doesn't spread to other parts of your body and you get the scratching action you desire. It numbs the area, too.
I'm still going to find the meds when I get home. You may have to go to your doc. I'll get back with you asap. Anna
Doesn't sound trivial to me as have had that myself. I developed eczema on my hands from something I ate. It was so itchy and raw and it took me a long time to figure out that it was a spice in a powdered sauce mix. Did you eat somewhere different or something different from normal? It can be a long process of trial and error until you figure out what caused the reaction.
I had to get a special cream to get rid of it and I get eczema on my fingers very easily now whereas before that happened I had never had it on my hands before.
Hope that helps.
I'm suspecting my Spaghetti Sauce. I used a different sauce this time. Only thing different.
Hi D.
I'm not at home, but I will be on Sunday. I was prescribed two different meds for this problem. One was because I was allergic to peanut butter, and the other was for contact dermatitis. When I get home I'll let you know what they are.
Love,
Anna
