Had lung surgery for lung cancer stage one year ago.. For precaution was given two rounds of chemo.should of had four but It caused a large area of inflammation in left lung. No reason given. Also the chemo gave me pneumonia in the left. Right lung is fine. Doc is giving me 40ml prednisone to try and get rid of inflammation. Can't breathe very good. Inhalers don't help. The pred.seems to be helping but worryn about side effects.
Is prednisone the correct med for lung inflammation?

im a scleroderma patient and one of the things that can happen is lung inflamation due to fibrosis on the lungs and one of the things they give to try to help is prednisone. its got its own set of troubles with side effects, but so far ive been on 40 ml a day for 3 weeks and the only three problems i am having a hell of a time with is sleep, weight gain, and now noticeable hair loss. if its helping you try to stick with it, i dont want to take it, but they say it will help so whats a body to do? hope this helps
