Buster is 12 years old, chow mix/Lab, looks like a black lab with black spots on his tongue. He is allergic to fleas, has been itching continuously, his hair, what is left is very course. He has lost alot of his hair back by his tail and it has moved up his body to his head. I talked to the vet who saw him for the same problem a year ago and put him on Prednisone. I was looking in the medicine cabinet to find an antihistamine (Benadryl) to help him. I found an old bottle of Prednisone but a Phenergan pill was in the bottle and I gave it to Buster before I saw where I wrote on the bottle that it was Phenergan 25 mg.
I'm scared he might have a reaction to it,what should I watch for??

Answers
Phenergan is not in the Veterinary List of medicines used for dogs, therefore not recommended. I would suggest you confirm with a Vet what needs to be done or what effects your dog may have.
