I am in recovery from drug addiction, and would like to avoid any pain killer which can cause addiction. any studies, reports on this topic available?

Celebrex is not usually known to cause addiction issues. It is a COX-2 inhibitor antiinflammatory drug. As you may know, almost any drug can be psychologically addictive but this drug is not known to cause physical addiction. There are no euphoric effects from this drug. Just be sure that you take this medication with food as NSAIDS can cause stomach bleeding especially when taken on an empty stomach.
