Been taking Effexor XR for a couple weeks and just tried to go up from 75 mg but found it was affecting my sleep even more. Is this a side effect that goes away the longer you take it? (Asking for personal experiences, though know it’s not a guarantee anyone will react the same way.) Thanks!
Does insomnia from Effexor XR go away?

I never had insomnia when on Effexor. I started with 37.5 mg and was increased to 150 mg. If your insomnia continues, you might have your doctor prescribe another med. Wishing you the best.
Hello! Side effects generally only last a week or two, but may recur after a dosage increase for a few days. As suggested, ask your doctor or pharmacist about OTC sleep aids that are safe to take with Effexor.
Best regards and you should be getting some Zzzz's very soon. Wild Cat
Thanks so much for the response!
Your insomnia should decrease over time, maybe a week or so. In the meantime take melatonin. That will help you sleep.
