I've seemed to be putting on unexplained weight. I've been on the injection for the last three months and I'm gaining weight now.

I've been on humira 5 months and seem to be steadily gaining weight despite no other changes being made. Its extremely frustrating. The medication has made such a huge difference for me though.

HUMIRA has steroids. That is why it causes weight gain't. I have gained about 25 lbs but it works so well I can't stop taking it.

I've been on Humira since July of 2014. It is now early March and I have put on at least 20 lbs if not more. I have psoriasis and this has gotten worse and I am in more pain now from the arthritis than ever before. It could be stress and that has also increased in my life but I do not believe the Humira has helped me in any way it was supposed to.

I just wanted to share that I to have psoriasis, sarcastic arthritis and crohns. I have had the same side effects as you. I was on it 6 years ago and my psoriasis was out of control, I was hospitalized because I couldn't even walk on my feet, I looked like a burn victim. All over my legs and arms as well with all the puss coming out It was excruciating. My arthritis was terrible, and I honestly didn't feel any better either, the side effects were so bad. I lost a lot of hair and finger/toe nails, especially if I bathed. I gained weight as well. I was incapacitated. I then decided to get a bowel resection, which was brutal, my immun system was so low, I actually had infection after infection from surgery. It was hell. The crohns came back with in 6 months, and now it has grown back to 30 cm. Ive had many hospital visits through the years, I havnt even worked in 7 years because I'm always sick.
They put me back on steroids and now I am facing the fears of starting Humira once again. Actually I just had my first loading does this morning.
I am sooo sorry you had to go through all of that suffering. Please know your not alone in this. Your the first person I have come across who has/ had the same side effects. It's scary. I have and are doing everything possible on my end to control it, diet, yoga, walking. It's out of my control at this point. I had to make a choice, didn't want to go this rout but it looks like I'm going to have to for now.
Stress is absolutely horrible for what we have, I try and live as stress free as possible. But that doesn't cure it, unfortunately.
I hope you find some comfort in knowing your not the only one.

Dear Griffin - I have been on Humira 4+ yrs and have gained about 15 lbs. I use it for Crohns Disease and it has helped. Not enough for remission, but, since Crohns comes with many digestive "problems", a reduction in some symptoms has helped me be able to eat a little more than before. Although Ensure drinks make up the biggest part of my nutrition, the weight gain is simply because I am digesting a little more, rather than vomiting all. I also take Prednisone, which is more than likely the culprit, I still think the Humira has at least added to the increase.

Agreed. This is happening to me too. I have been on Humira a year now and over the last few months have been putting on weight that I can't seem to lose. I eat little and fairly healthy. Plus I'm walking 20-30 minutes a day. It is very frustrating. But the Humira is keeping me healthy otherwise so I guess I will take the weight gain in return. K

Same thing here, I'm walking and gain weight. I've only been on it for a month and I've gained ten pounds from 2 shots

I am on my 112th injection. In the last 3 months I have been gaining more weight than usual. It is disheartening.

I totally agree, I work so hard to diet and exercise and then I go on the scale and I gained two pounds.
The shots burn and I hate them, plus I haven't seen any results and its been 4 mores. My Arthritis is worst then ever.

I've been on it for years and have not gained weight because of it. Gabapentin and prednisone caused me to gain weight. I've been able to lose weight. One of the side effects is to lose weight, not gain it.

I've been on Humira for over 7 months, I have notice from the 2nd injection little weight gain. I've been gaining at least 1 to 2 pounds a month. I know several other people who are also on Humira shoots and have claimed that they have also gain weight. My eating habits have not change for the worse that actually have changed for the better yet I still keep gaining weight. When I notified the makers of Humira the claim that they have never had any calls indicating anything about weight gain. I spoke to there pharmacist every 2 weeks in order to place my next delivery. They always ask me questions like "how do you feel on a scale of 1 to 10, to being great?", or "have you notice any changes in your mobility?". But when I mention the weight gain the say it can't be the Humira because know one else has complained about it before. I don't believe that one bit.

yes I have also noticed a lot of weight gain on humira injections. I have been on humira a year now and its working im not in pain and hardly get stiffness and my strength has gone up a lot the same as my weight. I have always found it hard to put on weight through the years no matter what I eate I would never put on the weight. but being on humira I have put on 3 stone over the last 3 or 4 months. I still feel healthy and pain free but the weight gain is defnatuly down to humira.

I have been on Humira for 4 years and it's amazing at keeping the arthritis at bay but j have put on 2 stone during that time. I have been told the same, it's not the Humira but I totally believe it is.

I've just started taking Humira 2 months ago, my Consultant told me I will gain weight taking Humira as your body will absorb more of what your eating, I take it for Crohns disease. I've noticed this wk that im hungry & when I start to eat dinner I don't want to eat, like I loss my appetite, also my urine smells like ante-antibiotics.

I am on humira 12 months & gained 1-2lbs every month since, yet prior to humira, I was 8.5stone, & ate like a horse to try gain weight , & yet not a pound could I put on
Now on humira, I am hitting 10st 3... that is a jump of nearly 2 stone in one year, despite NO and i mean NO change in what I eat & how I eat
very fed up
Initially I was on humira fortnightly,,, but after 6 months it stopped working so now on it wkly & yet again, more weight increase
we really all need to be logging this with the makers of humira
I had an eating disorder in my past,so I am very strict & ridget in how I eat daily,,, this has not changed,,, yet I am gone from a size 8 to a size 12... very pissed off I must say
am I 100% pain free ... no... alot better yes...
am now trying CBD Oil in the hope of getting off meds altogether

I have been on Humira for 3 months and have had weight gain as well, in fact I'm walking on a tread mill regularily, something I've never really done and still gaining weight. My eating habits are really good no alcohol, junk good etc.
It's very did heartening.
But on the flip side my pain is well controlled.
Don't know what to do or think

3 months on Humira and am gaining weight, I was on Enbrel for a year and noticed the same with that medication as well, very frustrating. Symptoms are in control but weight is up.

For many years my weight has always been the same,but since I have been on humira
I am gaining weight and that is the only thing I can put my weight gain too,don,t know
what the answer is as the humira has given me a new lease of life,I am taking it for R.A

I, too have noticed wieght gain since starting Humira, my diet is good, and I walk 3 to 5 miles a day, and bike on the weekends.
