I see this is an old question but I'll answer it in case someone sees it needing a quick solution. FYI, I do medical coding & I studied anatomy, chemistry & physics in grad school, and also went to college for Global/Public Health, Neurology, Pharmacology, Physiology & Pathology. Yes, I've spent a lot of time getting educated about this stuff & I need continual education to maintain certifications. So quick answer: if you have 2 or 3 bucks get some "epsom salts" at your pharmacy or WalMart. It will loosen you up FAST. BE PREPARED & don't overdo it. The magnesium in it does the trick- alternately, you can just buy magnesium capsules or buy "Milk of Magnesia" - these options are more expensive but don't taste as bad. I wouldn't be surprised if this "sea salt cleanse" was just magnesium salts with a huge price tag on it. As far as "toxins" in your diet, as long as you aren't ingesting rat poison or something for lunch, your liver & your kidneys should be doing an adequate job of detoxifying your body- just drink water. Unless you have some problems such an end stage renal disease (in which case you just need to get dialysis) you shouldn't have a problem with "toxins" in your body. I'm not sure why you believe you have parasites but perhaps you live in an underdeveloped country with inadequate water treatment. In this case you should visit a physician for the proper stool test and medications- if you are finding evidence of parasites in your stool, try to bring a sample with you. On another note, I believe you may have been taken advantage of by some sort of "junk science" or pseudoscience on a celebrity blog that feeds upon people who aren't educated in a scientific field. It is a shame & travesty that there are those who will profit off of people who don't know any better. Again, you don't need to "cleanse" your body with anything other than perhaps some soap after you've been working in your garden- your liver & kidneys are what "cleanses" your body internally. If your urine & stools are fine (you can get a urinalysis from a laboratory if you are noticing an unusual color or scent) & you don't have some sort of organ failure, you should be fine. Again, I code everything from rectal hemorrhage to artificial pacemakers all day, every day & I'm quite certain you don't need an "internal cleanse" unless you need dialysis- in which case, that would be what you are doing dialysis for & you need to coordinate care with your endocrinologist. Please don't waste your hard-earned $ on "snake oil" salespeople. I've seen so many ridiculous things advertised, for example "alkaline" water, etc. (your body precisely regulates your pH JUST FINE- "alkaline" water would be neutralized the second it hits your stomach acid). The best thing you can do for your overall health is get enough cardiovascular exercise and do NOT SMOKE. These are the TWO THINGS that you can do to make sure you are in good health. Again, cardiovascular exercise & do not smoke. Other than that, eat sensibly for the amount of exercise you are getting to maintain a normal weight. That is it. Don't over-complicate things. Next time you are tempted to spend $ on the latest gimmick, just ask yourself how much exercise you got in this week. I hope this helps. Best of health!
Firstly, why were you taking the charcoal? I use it, sometimes, but never to relieve constipation. It is constipating.
Now, you have taken it, so let's try and deal with where you are now.
Have you tried stool softeners?
I use a product called Lactulose. It is a syrupy substance and what it does is pull water into the bowels. It does take a few hours to work AND you will have a lot of gas! It is nasty! It does work. It is available, at least here in Canada, behind the pharmacy counter. Here you do not need a prescription.
Good luck!
Let me know if this works for you!
Hi Thanks very much for your response. I'd just come off of a 10 day cleanse and didn't feel that I eliminated enough. I saw at the local pharmacy in the aisle for digestive aids and cleansing, that charcoal was good to bind and eliminate poisons in the digestive system including parasites (which I think I may have) so I decided to try it. Even after an entire day nothing happened but I did notice the bloating and read that it expands in the intestines to grab all the unnecessary stuff there in the creavices so I wondered whether I took too much and maybe it expanded too much so that I became bound and could not eliminate (sounds stupid buy that's what I thought) because my goal for the cleanse was to eliminate poisons in my digestive system, flatten my stomach, clear my mind and stop craving junk food. Now after taking the charcoal, I felt I was going backwards because my stomach became hard and protrouded again so naturally I was worried.
Since my email, I have taken prune juice, aloe vera juice separate and combined, nothing happened. So finally I gave myself an enema and was able to relieve some but not enough. The following day I went back for another enema and spoke with the pharmacist and she recommended castor oil, which also did not do any thing. It seems that nothing I took by mouth helped, only the enema did. So I just took another enema and got a little more relief. Then I remembered that during my prior cleanse, I was required to take daily salt water flushes using dead sea salt and purified water. I had lots left over and decided to use it. Happily I am eliminating again. Thanks to the sea salt.
The product you menitoned I am not aware of it; there may be something similar here in the U.S. but I'm not aware of it. However, I think that after taking so many things by mouth, the only thing working now is the enemas and the salt water flush. I'll continue to take that until I feel clear. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR RESONSE.
Could you tell me a bit more about the sea salt?
I would imagine taking in all that salt would cause you to retain a lot of fluids. Is that the case?
Any reason in particular you're doing this cleanse?
If you'd like to 'friend' me we could talk privately. It's up to you.
Glad to hear things are 'moving'!
Hi again:
the reason I sued the sea salt is because as I menitoned before I hd taken it as part of my cleanse which is not regular salt it cannot be iodidized, salt it has to be organic dead sea salt or sea salt from inland. The salt is not absorbed by the body it is flushed out what the body does not need taking with it any impurities in the intestines. The cleans I used is called master cleanse using lemons and grade B organic maple syrup similar but not the same as the lemonade diet craze. It is used to periodically clean our digestive system of the pollutions we all have built up in our colon due to consuming junk food and other unhealthy diets over a long period of time, which causes lots of unhealthy side effects including high blood pressure, and diabetes and other diseases. The most common symptoms is bloated abdomen, obesity, stressful lifestyle impatience type a personality etc.
Anyway, I wanted to also lose weight and finally convert to complete veganism (I'm currently a mostly vegetarian eating occasonally seafood and chicken). I find that sometimes I revert to fast foods when I'm on the go. so I wanted to completly clean out my system and then only replace with gradual juicing then to veganism laying the foundation so that I do not revert to junk food even under stress. I think I needed to stay on the diet longer than 10 days but became tired of it and go off. No one recommended the charcoal to me I just happened to see it at the pharmacy and thought that since I did get off the diet without completion and I was worried that I may have parasites, this might be a good idea since I was partly clean anyway. Actually, I'd read that the parasite cleansing could be used together with the master cleanse but the product was not simply charcoal, I chose that. wrong move I think.
I'd like to know more about this cleanse. I have heard of it, of course, as many celebs talk about the master cleanse.
How long are you on it?
Why don't you 'friend' me and then we can talk about in the private question area of the site here. OK?
thanks
