Be careful doubling up on percocet,vicodin, etc. It is the acedemediphine that will do more damage than the pain med.

Doctor often argue about Morphine vs. Oxycodone (Percocet, Oxycontin,Oxycodone). Sometimes doctors say that Oxycodone is twice as strong as morphine (100mg of Oxycodone equals 200mg of Morphine), some doctors say they're equal (100mg equal 100mg). My father has been on both (His doctor said they're equal) and they put my dad on morphine 30mg as needed (He was previously on Oxycodone). My dad said that the Morphine wasn't as effective as the Oxycodone. Personally I believe that Oxycodone is more effective than Morphine and is 1/3rd more potent than Morphine. That's my personal opinion based on my research on the subject. Some doctor will tell you they're equal, others will say Oxycodone is 2x more potent than Morphine. It all depends on who you ask. 100mg is also a moderate dose based on if you've been taking it for a while or not. If you haven't been taking it than it's a high dose. Hope this helps. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. This is my first time using this web site and I was hesitant to ask that question on line. I have other questions as well, but not sure how to 'phrase' them yet. I also agree with your answer because my doctor wants me to step down from the Percocet to the 12 hour- once a day- 100 milligram Morphine pill. In my opinion 100mg of morphine is far more strong but it all depends on an individual and there tolerance to different meds. If you take 5 10/325 percocets you will NOTICE the difference if you were to take 5 30 mgs of morphine. Especially if chewed. Morphine last longer if taken at night you can feel 120mg all the next day! So in my opium either way you decide to go but you need to double up on the percocets if you take morphine because it is COMMON knowledge that morphine is way stronger if you don't get that stupid Kadian crap! Say NO TO KADIAN OF ANY MG

DO NOT EVER WASTE YOUR $$$ on KADIAN MORPHINE! it does NOT HELP if ya know what I'm saying
