After exhibiting many side effects from taking Lyrica or pregabalin at 300 mg, I finally went to my provider and said I want to taper off the pregabalin. Now I am at 200 mg. I started taking it at about 50 mg back in about March 2024 for leg movements or restless leg symptoms that started late in the day through the night. My initial prescriber was my primary care and she referred me to the sleep doctor. For the most part he has just upped the dose or moved follow up appointments further apart. I deal with dizziness and drowsiness upon waking. I stagger in the middle of the night to the bathroom etc. It has caused mental health issues, and I plain cannot lose weight.
How does one safely taper off pregabalin and where can I find reliable sources of information?

If taking two daily, start taking one only daily for two weeks . One very other day for two weeks. Then every other two days.
My experience with Gaba and Lyrica is that you must taper off slowly over a period of 10 days otherwise you will feel nausea and achy. I had similar side effects, as you've noted, while I was taking these meds. It is very difficult to lose the weight gain from these meds. I found Lyrica to be more effective for reduced nerve pain. Gaba didn't do much for my pain or muscle spasms and it left me groggy during the day. Now I rely on Tylenol as needed. I choose to have some pain than be drugged. Good luck to you. Keep looking for a doctor for help.
Thanks. I put in a call to the doctor today that prescribed all Lyrica / pregabalin. Now I feel like I have the flu and going thru menopause again.
