and how many mg's is a xanax bar? im wondering cause i have both, but i know the white xanax sticks that have 1 g are time released, and the other 1's with two g's arent, so how many milligrams is a bar?

Aaarrggh Mr Houston, how can anybody prefer US SANDOZ GG249? To ANY alprazolam? From the USA where the generic alps are worse than any in the world (exceptions Greenstone & Actavis/Purepac) except the junk made in Pakistan? Even New Sandoz, as yet Europe only, are bunk. But those Sandoz GG you mention are so weak and poor you couldn't sell them in Europe, the buyers would simply ask for their money back!
Brandname Xanax (or Xanor or Tafil, dep on where you live) are 250mcg White UPJOHN 29, 500mcg Pink UPJOHN 55, the one you ask about, 0pana, 1mg Purple UPJOHN 90 & 2mg White U94. Look at the US PDR Photo by Pfizer and Upjohn & you will notice that even though the imprint is the Asian one of 'XANAX 1.0' or whatever strength, they print the code numbers. US Xanax colours are different from the rest of the world as well, eg 1mg is generally a purple tablet but there it's blue.
All are ovoid ("footballs") except 2mg, which is a tri-scored tablet, long bar shape, imprint U94. There are several SR versions, P&U66 being pentagonal and a 12 hour 2mg, blue, and a triangular light green 3mg 12-hr with the stylised 'X' familiar from the boxes and bottles. Those are only available in very few countries. There are no time released Xanax 'sticks'. Torrent of India make 1 & 1.5mg Alprax SR, and there is a 1mg shorter bar, also Indian, called I THINK Alzolam SR. But certainly not Xanax, which is made in many countries by Pfizer/Upjohn, not, however, in India, where Torrent and Cipla make the biggest selling alps, Alprax and Tranax. Xanax is made under licence in Pakistan by Parke Davis, but so many tests have shown that the 1mg contain on average only 658mcg, I am amazed P&U still allow use of the name. At least in India Nicholas Piramal/Abbott make Valium and Rivotril up to Roche's standards.
Xanax, Alplax (Arg), Ksalol (Serb), & Frontin (Hun) are considered by alp users of long term to be best. Helex from Slovenia is also highly rated. There are many excellent generics from Europe and South Africa (Merck Alprazolam, made in Germany and also South Africa, are now relabelled having been bought by the much smaller Mylan company, very light blue ovoids, unmarked, and a top class generic; yet in Mylan's own country they still sell alprazolam as bad as, probably worse than, the Sandoz US!) Mylan's diazepam, green 10mg, is similarly so poor It takes a pharmacist with no conscience to dispense it. And do not get me started on the OP painkiller which Purdue continue to call Oxycontin despite it now bearing no resemblance to the patented product. It explains why European prices have rocketed and so many real OC now get sent to the US. Just change to IR. The US should have plenty, having broken the patent monopoly ten years early and allowing generics. There are no generics in the rest of the workd until patent expires in 2016.

Purple brand name Xanax/Xanor/Tafil contain one milligram alorazolam. That is the answer to the question posed.

I took 5 of the gg249 bars last Friday night and honestly wont do it again I don't remember nothing from Friday night tell I woke up today witch is Monday I like to sleep but not that much and it didn't help that I took 4 norco 10s along with it if you don't want to lose.days I would not suggest it

the only extended release xanax is xanax xr . xanax bars (that i take) are 2mg and come in different colors by whoever makes it like yellow or mostly white, i have had both and they are all instant release (to the best of my knowledge). so half a bar is 1mg and 1/4 of a bar is .5mg. bars allow more dose options thats all... really no different than regular footballs... other than (in my opinion) a bit stronger. football shaped are colored again by manufacturer. brand name goes like this: .25 is white. .5 is kinda orange and 1mg are blue. most generics that i have seen follow the brand name in color or close to color but i have heard of some that don't. I prefer sandoz brand bars and footballs which have gg on them. I also like greenstone brand because it is a generic made by the original maker which is pfizer. its referred to as "branded generic" so they look exactly like pfizer in shape, color, and potency (in my opinion anyway).
so thats how it goes as far as i know and within my scope of use. hope it helps. never under estimate xanax... take to much and the lights go out and no one's home but you're still walkin and talkin and doin stupid shit someone else will tell you about when it wears off and the lights come back on...
