I have been taking concerta for a long time, i started on ritalin, i have ADHD. i have been considering experimenting with marijuana, but have been told that it can be extremely bad, fatal even.
I now take 54mg of concerta daily.
i want to know more about the results of having both and, if i do decide to try it, how long i would have to refrain from taking my concerta in order to safely do so.

I've been on the same medication +more I've been taking 75mg of concerta for years and have also been smoking for a few years now and it has been fine, it may give u a different high then most but it's nothing bad just don't abuse it, smoking healthy grown and clean processed marijuana is actually a very successful form of medicating conditions such as adhd (just for legal reasons it's only allowed certain places n most families have gone about it there own way and had satisfying effects
Keep in mind I’m not any medical professional and am just speaking From my experience. I’ve only been on Adderall for about a month and Ritalin since the 2nd or 3rd grade. I was diagnosed with ADHD before 3rd grade, but cannot remember what age I was obviously I was young. My dosage went from 5mg up to about 35mg with 10 to 30 minute release time. With the drug came the ability to focus again. However my doctors and parents failed to understand that I was a child and didn’t understand the effects of the drug and what it could do to me if I doubled up, went days without it, or took it without a proper meal or hydration could do to my body. So instead of taking my daily dose in the morning and/or sometimes at school I took it sporadically throughout my middle/high school years. At about 14 I discovered luckily a clean cannabis grower who sold to me.
Once I started to experiment with cannabis and Ritalin I noticed immediately that I was hungry again, water became my best friend, I was able to sleep again and finally not be kept up til 2-4am every night and finally could focus a bit better in school. There were no side effects when I mixed the two but always consult with your doctor before you do anything. They can’t and won’t stop you but more than likely they’ll tell you no. If you still choose to do so they will want to know so they can keep a closer eye on your health. They won’t snitch to the police (however if you’re underage they’re legally obligated to tell your parents because under the law you’re still a minor consuming a controlled substance that’s for 21+ or 18 with recommendation from a doctor). So what you should take from this is. Take your medication correctly as prescribed by your doctor. Tell your doctor everything. Maintain a healthy lifestyle Incase you do choose this path and tell your doctor everything. Everything. They’re being paid to make sure you stay healthy not to get you in trouble.
If been taking 54 mg concerta since I was like 8 I'm now 18 and if been smoking daily with that any never have problems also not with dabs edibles or any problems at all
I was on 54mg of concerta amd I took it around 7-8 in the morning and around 5:40 I smoked one whole green bowl I felt really high for about 2-3 minutes so I layed down because I felt sick but then my friends told me I was turning green I looked at the pic they took of me and I was then I start hallucinating my biggest fear is hallucinating worst time ever haven’t smoked since.
I would first wonder your age and state of residence (regarding legality issues). In addition, are you referring to recreational use or medicinal use? I am a big advocate for legalization, both recreational and medicinal, but it's very important that you are of age and are properly knowledgeable about the different strains of the herb and how they can be used. I have seen it directly benefit some people, and directly harm others.
As far as it being fatal, I am unaware of any fatalities from the use of marijuana. (I am NOT implying that you should or shouldn't use/medicate with marijuana, and although I am an advocate I have only done limited research in certain situations and please do not consider this to be medical advice!)
Marijuana is an all naturl medication if u realy want to help ur add without life threating effects get off the pills and smoke some sativa. But im sure u guys dont kno wat it is.so ima tell u its the kinda weed that gets u up and ready to focus
I have real bad ADHD my doctor cannot put me on any stimulants
because my heart isn't healthy enough. So I smoke some train wreck and some girl scout cookies and then get my work done, it's way healthier than being on stimulants though.
I consider marijuana a drug just like many countless others and they call it as such. Marijuana is a downer and concerta is an upper when taken by the right person concerta can turn into a downer if you have severe adhd. So the side effects in my opinion can be crucial or not crucial depends on the person and how the two different drugs have an effect on them. For my son the effects from adhd medication(concerta)his medication is a downer it slows down the illness to the point where he is normal and in control of himself if let's say for instance we added marijuana to that he would be even more chilled out:).
For one thing Marijuana is a natural herb. And if Concerta is a "downer" to him why would he want to take it? And what is this "illness"... maybe he's just more active then you ! And what is normal?
First of all, comments like "it slows her down to the point where she is normal" are why my mother and I are not close to this day, I really don't feel like she likes the person that I am when I am not heavily medicated.
Second, marijuana has saved me in terms of taking concerta. When I take concerta on it's own I am so nauseous all day that I can not eat anything and was losing quite a bit of weight from it.
I began smoking after I feinted walking to my car from the school, not a long walk. The friend I was with had been worried about my eating (or lack there of) and asked if I had tried smoking weed to help with the nausea and lack of appetite I had been experiencing.
That night I tried smoking for the first time. I felt hunger, and I was actually able to fall asleep that night. Since that night I have learned that marijuana actually makes me focus more than concerta ever could. I don't go to school after smoking or anything, and I don't get that high. I just come home and smoke a teeny bit and finish all of my homework in one sitting.
Concerta meant well, but on it's own it destroyed my body and my self esteem.
My daughter struggled through grade school and was in special education classes, because she couldn't read or follow along in class. She was a well behaved child so no one ever thought of testing her for Attention Deficit Disorder. She was highly distractable and could not pay attention in class. In 8th grade she was at a 3rd grade reading level even though we worked with her all the time. Once she was tested and diagnosed with ADD she started taking Concerta, It changed her life. She tested out of Special Education because she could now pay attention in class. I am an Early Childhood Specialist and was always against medicating children, but I wish we had put her on Concerta years before, it would have helped her keep up in school. She still struggles because she was so far behind. Medicating is not always bad.
