I've had some really bad headaches while taking PERCOCET for severe back pain. Is this a side effect? Has anyone else had this happen? It helps with the back pain but the headaches make it almost not worth it! Is there something that I can take for the headache on top of taking the Percocets?
Has anybody suffered from headaches. while on Percocet?

Yeah, that may be what is known as a rebound headache. It should go away after the medicine level drops and you might want to slightly decrease how much percocet you are taking to avoid the headache.
You can take some advil or other NSAID to help.
I just asked this question somewhere else... I guess I should have looked around first. Can you tell me just for my own piece of mind is it more likely that my headaches are in fact rebound headaches or that the meds are raising my BP and that's why I'm getting them. I am asking because I have high BP and am on meds for that and the last time I was getting headaches like this was cause my BP was elevated and I didn't know it...
Thanks so much

yeah what they said, from the perc family I do to get them rebounds much different then most headaches. Like a buldge pressure in facial, well on norco i dont get those , but on vicoden I do the 5's i think the tylenol amt. I cant take tylenol much besides whats n my norco. bad stuff...
I've been getting severe headaches too and I take endocet 10/325 supposed to take it four times a day but now I'm taking it only two times by my own choice because I can't stand the headache pain is this a rebound headache or what? I'm scared cause I'm not the kids person that usually gets headaches I've been on this medicine for 4 years now, or is it caused by pain in my cervical spine???
It could be either, you need to let the dr check you, high bp sometimes occurs with long term pain and also long term opine use, check it to see if it is high but let your dr know so you can get a definitive answer. Patti
