I take 100mg of Seroquel twice a day, for schizophrenia.
Why can't I have grapefruit while taking seroquel?

Hi, Bridie! Just FYI, other fruit juices ~ orange, apple, grape, etc. ~ will not cause an interaction.
Best wishes, WCV
It has to do with the metabolism of Seroquel. Seroquel is metabolized in your liver by CYP3a4 enzymes. Grapefruit is a protent inhibitor of these enzymes. Taking the two together causes seroquel to accumulate and leads to potential side-effects.
