I recently picked up my new prescription and the pharmacy gave me the generic for the first time. since starting the generic I have began having these strange very realistic dreams, where I wake up heart pounding and in a panic. The dreams are similar to the dreams that I have experienced when I miss a dose of viibryd or fall asleep on the couch before taking my medication.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Abnormal dreams are a common side effect of Viibryd but since the generic contains the same drug as the brand it is strange that you're only having this side effect now. Generics very often contain different inactive ingredients such as the fillers, binders, colouring agents, etc., which may cause the drug to be absorbed differently than the brand.
Let your doctor know that you're having this problem with the generic they prescribed. It may resolve within days to a week or two but if it persists you may need to try a different generic or switch back to the name brand.
Abnormal dreams are considered common side effects affecting 1% to 10% of people being treated with this antidepressant.
If they do not subside within a week to 10 days do inform your DR..
