If not ingested in the whole pill form will the effects of Lexapro be effected. Should Lexapro pills be swallowed whole?
Should a pill form of Lexapro be crushed into powder form before taking?

According to MedicalNewsToday:
"You can take this drug with or without food. Taking it with food may help to reduce upset stomach. You can cut or crush the 10-mg and 20-mg tablets. You can't cut or crush the 5-mg tablets."
It doesn't why...

Thank you it was super helpful ! Please best recommendation for withdrawal lexapro 5Mg today s exactly a 6 month I took it and I am feeling 100% normal so was thinking to withdrawal .. any idea thanks
Were you being treat for depression and/or anxiety? The recommended duration of maintenance therapy is at least several months after an acute episode so you probably fit the bill there. The problem that some people have is that they take their meds, get feeling great, and decide to stop their medication. There is something that's called "rebound syndrome" in which the original symptoms recur within weeks to a few months after stopping and if that happens they need to go back on their meds. Some people like me have to continue taking the medication for life.
You'll need to talk with your doctor about a tapering dosage schedule to follow to minimize or eliminate any withdrawal symptoms. Since you're on a low dose she/he may have you take it every other day for awhile, then every third day, etc. The other way would be halving your daily dosage little by little but that might be difficult unless the doc prescribes the liquid formulation.
Don't attempt to stop cold turkey or on your own timeline. Even after a short period of time it can be very difficult for some people to withdraw and that is why you need your doctor's supervision.
Good luck with this and best of luck to you.
Thank you again whildcatvet
Swallowing it whole is best. If crushed it may absorb more quickly. this can cause more side effects. There is a liquid form available.
