I use it on my feet for a month 2 times a day for precancerous skin. After the treatment the skin remains blotchy, red, scabby, dry, and my feet feel like they are on fire.
Fluorouracil - What do you use on the skin after treatment to make the skin heal?

I just finished two weeks of fluorouracil on my face. During treatment it was very uncomfortable with a painful burning sensation and painful itching. The morning after stopping treatment I put a liberal coating of Aquaphor on my face. The burning pain stopped almost immediately and the itching has nearly stopped about 24 HR after the last application of fluorouracil. As mentioned in an earlier comment Vaseline should work equally as well. The Aquaphor is messy and greasy, but is an enormous relief to have the pain and facial tightness gone.
I've noticed that people post saying their Doctor recommended various ointments one being Aquaphor. I looked at the ingredients and it had alcohol in it and with the way my face felt I sure as hell wasn't going to put anything with alcohol on my raw face. I tried several things like aloe, something from a natural/vitamin shop, but what worked best for me was plain old unscented Vaseline and or coconut oil from my kitchen. I found those two products the most soothing. Anything you put on your sores will not make it "heal" but will aid in the healing process by giving you comfort.
I just finished treatment. Three weeks just once a day of the cream for a Bowen’s superficial squamous on my shin. I’m one of the lucky ones and only had one little spot. My doctor told me that after treatment “grease is the word” regular old Vaseline petroleum jelly for a week after. Today is day 1. Hope to never have to do this again any where else on my body. Sunscreen is my new best friend. Good luck to everyone.
