Already experiencing side effects... tremors, muscle twitching, insomnia, confusion, zombie feeling. My anxiety before taking the medication wasn't all the time, but the racing thoughts were constant. Don't know if I should continue taking it or not.
First day on zoloft have terrible side effects, should I continue?

Hello castaway524. I understand its not pleasant at the moment, It is day one for you and unfortunately you'll likely, possibly be feeling like this for several more days. Not certain when you're taking it, and as to the dose itself. If you were feeling like this on day 8 or 9 I'd suggest splitting the dose but its so early. I;m afraid its the nature of the drug. Hang in there, the anxiety will diminish. Just a bit of patience, once the Zoloft begins to work theraputically you'll be feeling much better. Best wishes, pledge
Thanks again for commenting Pledge. I'm just concerned these side effects are going to interfere with my occupation as a police officer. I've been taking the medication along with my other medication at noon. The dosage is 50mg. I'm not surprised I'm already feeling the effects. I have a high metabolism. This is common for me with any type of medication to experience effects so early.
It took me about a month to settle into it. I lost a little weight b/c I had no appetite. Give it some time- You'll get use to it.
I just cut the pill in half. It seems to be a little better :)
Thats good to hear. Have a great week, and you'll be feeling a bit better, all be it gradually, pledge
Thanks pledge and outsidesue
You are welcome and have a great week
Hi Castaway524. I read your comment on Wellbutrin and you said you were in Law Enforcement, I am in LE too and I really related to your post. I am going through the same thing, I was put on Wellbutrin today, not going to start till tomorrow. How was your experience with it, did it help at all? Thanks
