I have Norco, Opana, Xanax and Baclofen. I've taken all of them, to no avail !!
I am afraid of the Opana situation, as some of you know my history with OxyContin, my oh so lovely cold turkey withdrawal off of it, true hell on earth it was.
I've taken a hot bath, I am trying to relax, yet NOTHING, any suggestions my lovely family??
xoxo

I'm hoping your flare has passed. I would have recommended that you do not take all the drugs in your medicine chest. Just a muscle relaxant, some chamomile or calming tea. Grap ahold of whatever body part is hurting and gently pull and stretch. It'll hurt like the dickens, but after stretching you can rub, rub, rub. I haven't tried heat or cold... both don't seem right when I'm in pain, but the more I gently push and pull and bend and stretch through the pain, then relax and lay down without moving... the better I feel and the faster the flare passes.
Please be careful sweet lemon in taking all your available drugs at once. I know you might have done it before, but you never know when the wrong combination dissolving together can trigger something severe.
I find being by myself and away from technology during a flare and just feeling my body and getting through the pain is much more effective than sitting around talking and worrying about it, all curled up and hurting.
I hope this helps for next time. Just imagine yourself an unfurled flower laying gently on top of a pond, your body gently riding the ripples that go by, thinking the pain away and letting the healing breath in and out.
I'm so sorry you're having such a tough tme Sweet! If I had a miracle pill to give you, I would give it to you in a minute! When I have pain, I either take a hot shower, or I take some lotion and warm it up and slather it on. I use tiger balm for my shoulder (mild arthritis). I know my pain flare ups can never be compared to the pain your going through, I hope you feel better soon! Let me know how you are doing

Hi Sweet Lemon So sorry to hear you have a very bad flare up. You are doing the right things rest I am afraid is the only answer. But have you a relaxation CD. this may help I know it is not easy to relax with fibro I to have had a bad flare up as I changed me meds over the last few weeks it's awful and because we look well no one understands how we feel. You know that you must Pace yourself to help keep fibro at bay but when we feel good we always over do it. Have you tried Lavender to help you relax.
Take care wish you well xx
I only have one friend with this and she takes oxy (which I know you probably won't) or the opana if it gets really bad so don't be afraid to take it if you are in such pain. You have a healthy fear of addiction and sometimes that helps. That is what medicine is for - look how everyone loves you and cares about your well being - no one will let you take a fall. You got lots of good advice and it sounds like everything is coming to your aid except a hospital wing so that should make you feel better. Hope the opana is taking affect now and you will get some peace. Any idea what brings these attacks on?
Lara,
No suggestions from myself, just my best wishes to you... get well soon, just take it easy... have a safe & nice weekend. Life has many phases & this one shall also pass by before you realize it.

I'm so sorry to hear that your in so much pain!! Lately I've too had some pretty bad flair ups, but nothing as bad as what you're describing! As far as medication goes, you know that I would support methadone simply cause it hits nerve pain in a way that almost all of the other opioids don't address, the only real thing that they would do for nerve pain is make you care less about it (for most people)... But... methadone isn't anything to be messed around with either, and isn't a med that would be appropriate for a flair up, especially if your regular routine has been working! Don't know what to tell you except that I sincerely feel for you and hope that your feeling better asap!!!
JK13... I've really missed you, love your incredibly informative answers my dear friend!!! Where have you been? We really could use your intellect round here ya know!!! Yet I do know thou art busy indeed.

Dear Lara,
Im so very sorry to learn of your pain tonite. You are truly such a cheery gal to keep everyone's spirits up whenever I come online at night. And here you are, the one truly in pain tonite. A long warm soaking bath followed by a nice massage might be the answer, but whatever you can do, I truly do hope you find relief somehow. I hate to see a Fibro sister in pain for any reason. You're in my thoughts n prayers, Lara, get well soon
In Peace,
Tee
My sweet Lemonhead,
I JUST got online and read your sit-che-a-shun. I am so sorry. I truly wonder if I do in fact have fibrofrigginalgia after reading some of these painful posts!! ?? What I have done with my pain regarding the epsom salts: pour in a half bottle of hydrogen peroxide. Cheap as all get out and for whatever reason, it causes the epsom to soak deeper into your muscle aches. Sounds (in your words) wackadoo, but it really works. Go figure. I am here to talk whenever you need to, although that doesn't seem to ring true now does it, seeing as I just got this? Well, I will check my emails from my phone going forward! I think, too, the lack of sleep may have triggered it? You didn't get a wink last night and from what I recall, you were making aNOTHER pot at, oh, say, 12:30am? Lemonhead, Lemonhead... *le sigh*
Try to drink decaf after the bell tolls noon. May help a tad? I would suggest a splash of Bailey's but the meds say, "no no no" (hear Amy W. ?) So, stick to some yummy flavored coffeemate. I am SO addicted to the new Honey flavor. omgosh!
lots of hugs a smooches,
Jillybean
O Jillybean, I certainly DID have a sit~chee~a~shun yesterday gurl (see my neck wiggle back n FORF??)
I wish I had an answer for immediate relief but I don't. My suggestion would be to head to the ER and hopefully they can get yor pain under better control.
My long term suggestion would be to try bio feedback. It helped me with kidney stones and migraines. My bio feedback doc taught me self hypnosis and it really does work.
I'm sorry you are in so much pain right now. I wish I could help. Hang in there! -Mel
Oh Poor Sweetlemon. Here you are always keeping everyone's spirits up even when you are hurting more than anyone. I applaud you for that!! Having horrible fibro myself, I can add a few more suggestions to the equation. Massage is EXCELLENT, and so is what it leads to afterwards with hubby, even if you don't feel like it. Endorphins are the best way to relieve pain, that is why some people suggested a short walk. I know when I hurt so bad, a walk is out of the question, but you could stretch too. You are way too uptight about the pain, and emotions make the pain oh so much worse!! you have to relax. I would tell you to have a glass of wine... DON"T... too much Opana. Meditation can relax you also. Taking a warm, not hot, bath, and afterwards try curling up warm in bed, and get lost in a good movie, or better, fall asleep to a boring movie. When I have bad flairs, and in answer to your question, yes, I have been flared up a lot lately, I try and sleep as much as I can.
Pretty easy for me, as the pain wears me out. One thing is that Opana doesn't help fibro pain. No narcs do for some reason. They are used for other conditions that fibro can bring on. That is why I am wondering is the Opana working for you? You seem to really want the next dose which tells me that the two doses you have taken already aren't helping. The other person who wrote is right that there are supplements that you can take that help in the long run, but I won't take up time here talking about them. Good luck sweetlemon, and I really hope you take a good hard look about what is stressing you out, and kick it out of your mind, even if it is pain. Endorphins girl, endorphins!! Love ya, Ellen
Hi Ellen,
Long time no posty posty gurl !! I am umm pretty covered in the endorphin department if ye get me on that one?
The Opana is quite scary to me, yet it really has helped tonight. I really am not stressed, I am pretty kool in that department too actually. Bit spoilt am I. Hate to admit it IN PUBLIC tho. Opana gave me a bit of a headbanger, but the spasms are better!! Go figya.
Ellen, I do take sups too. I find magnesium to be the biggest boon, how 'bout you?
Off to bed is this Irish Lass!!
Love ya too Ellen,
Lara
Glad to hear that you are going to bed early tonight, Lara. Or is for more of those endorphins? Only partly kidding. I take major supps. Dandylion root, probiotics, magnesium, quertecin, one called sleep, with a bunch of stuff in it. I get most of my supps from SwansonVitamins.com. Cheap, cheap, cheap, after all the Dr. bills, who can afford any luxury? (except those endorphins, ey?) They are also natural, and plenty are organic. They have nutritionists on site to help you with your symptoms, though they cannot give medical advice. I pay about $100.00/month, and use their coupons every time too. But you really did sound stressed about the pain, and understandably when you hurt soooo bad, pain does stress you out. It's a never ending conundrum. If you want the entire list, send me a private Q, ok? Ellen
Got it Ellen, thank you!!! Will pq you soon.

I am so sorry you are in so much pain. I no nothing about fibro. Hope you can find some relief soon. My prayers are with you.
try prozac it good for pain and if you cant sleep get ambiem
Spoke to my sis, she rcommends the following which won't help immediately but will in the long run. Glucosamine chondroitin, magnesium, Vit B complex, and Vit C in the highest doses recommended. Glad to read that the Opana is helping. Obviously, these are all over the counter. Hope you are resting quietly soon.
gots all of 'em Laur, but the glucosamine condroitin rips up me tummy, can't take it any longer!!! TY gurl, what about the Opana? And does it dry up ones gob real bad, opana I mean???
yea, increase your water intake, it will help so you don't get stopped up.
Laurie,
Stopped up... stopped u... OHHHHH cork up the hoo haa thang?? hahahahahaha, I'm ok in that department, yet YA DINT ANSWER MY Q ABOUT THE OPANA AM I GONNA HAFTA EMAIL U ABOUT DAT DER??
Nyla-dalin you are so dear!!!
Vonniepie, aye, I love you all ever sooooo much!!! Where can a person go for support like THIS? Nowhere that I know of.
the lemster!! lemonhead, lemonsqueeze, lemonpie, oh forget it i am just goofy now. sorry.
I did answer you above about the opana dosage. I think you have had enough, lol. Don't think you should take anymore until it has been 12 hours since your last dose especially since you have taken two doses today already.
lemster?! HA HA HA

from LiverLips :)
and YOU make fun of MY name? LOL
Oh LAWD Wendy, I am sooooo LMAO over the 'yellow hamster' thang!!!
The MAN is just a~starin' at me like I am totally loonie toonie, I YAM I YAM!!
Have you tried a massage? See if your hubby will be nice enough to massage out all those tight trigger spots gently or call the nearest place that offers massage. Massage can really help with the pain and stiffness. I also find getting a chiropractic adjustment sometimes helps too, especially when it is my neck and shoulders. Applying a nice hot pack works well too. I have several of these little wonders called Bed Buddies. I get them at Walgreens. They are like a white sock with a blue rope at each end. put them in the microwave for 1-2 minutes and ahhh warm moist heat! They are worth their weight in gold. they cost about 8-10 dollars around here. They really help those little tight knots to release. In a pinch you can put dry beans into a clean old white sports sock, tie the end and put it in the microwave to do basically the same thing. I cant live without them. Are you sure it is the fibro and not the RA? Are your joints hot and swollen? Poor girl. I hope you feel better soon!
TY DzooBaby,
He most certainly will give me a massage, yet it will lead to... oops!
I just cant do that tonight if ye get me gurl. I do have one of those rice thangs that ye nuke for two mins, and voila moist heat, I shall try it.
And YES I do think tis the RA DzooBaby, Mary said the same thing in an email to me, you gurlz are brilliant!!!
Not doin' the RA med thang tho.
K, off I go for a massage!! YAY!
sweets
Also you can warm some oil in the micro and get your hubby to give you a massage. We use to do that when I worked for a Chiro. Von
Hang in there girl. The troops are on the way... Love ya ,sis, Mary
Thanks my gurl, my sis Mary!!!
Anyone else with Fibrofrigginmyalgia have excruciating pain LATELY???
I just want to do a wee survey here! (i think the Opana may be taking effect at the mo, feeling a wee bit wonky!!! )
IDK but I've been rather achey lately but then I did just spend 3 days walking around Disneyland so??? But my neck and upper back is killing too so it may be the fibo and not just from the walking and getting banged around on rough rides. I did go for a massage and adjustment yesterday. As soon as I'm done with work I'm gonna kick back with a hot pack for a bit.
Hi Dzoobaby. Another suggestion for the group is this. A really cheap way to make cold gel packs. My physical therapist shared this secret with me. Go buy the cheapest hair gel you can find. Typically I buy it at Freds. By one bottle of rubbing alcholol. The higher the percentage of alcholol the better. Depending on how big of a bag you want to make, take 2 parts of hair gel and mix it with alcholol until you get it to the desire consistency you want. You then pour it in a quart size freezer bag and seal it. Then you take another quart size freezer and place the bag over the seal side and seal it on the opposite side. Place in the freezer until you are ready to use this. The regular gel packs that I have purchased at my chiropractors office cost $10.00. You can make several of these for that price. These are wonderful for those tight mucles that we suffer from. And additional benefit is that is helps to cool you in this hot weather we are experiencing. I hope this helps.
Wonderful idea about the cold packs!!! I can hardly wait to get the ingredients!!! Does it last long?? Does it lose any consistency after awhile? I pay soooo much for those essential cold packs that I use almost daily for migraines, and they break too often (probably from too much us, huh!) I love this group as I have picked up soooo many great ideas to help me through life. Thanks again :-)
I have been so out f control I can't type! I'm down for the count! Love to all! N
