Entyvio - Is Enytvio only for moderate to severe symptoms?

That is true. But if the doctor sees active disease it could be classified as moderate. The reason your doctor wants you on a biological is because a) they're the most effective drug to treat Crohn's and UC currently and b) if the disease is active you need to treat it. Even if you feel great if the disease is active it is destroying your insides. I've been on six different biologicals since 1995. I've been on entyvio for three years. It is by far one of the most effective I've had. I have severe crohns and am currently trying to prevent surgery number five. Even if your UC is mild the doctor wants to nip it in the bud and put it back into remission. I have never had any side effects from entyvio and I've had a lot from the others. And if you have trouble affording it the company has a patient assistance program. Your doctors office should have info on that. My infusions are $40 every eight weeks. And they recently came out with a pen so you can do it at home. I hope this answered some of your questions and concerns. Yes. In my 40 plus years of having Crohns it is the only medication which is effective.
I take it every two weeks by self administered injection pen.
