My dentist sent me for a biopsy, but the Dental Hospital said not needed as it is obvious what I have?
My doctor says a biopsy is not necessary. She is positive I have Oral Lichen Planus. Thoughts?

I'm not a doctor but if you do not have areas of your mouth that suggest EROSIVE oral lichen planus, then a biopsy probably isn't necessary. With the erosive type, you would have very sore, ulcer-like lesions. Good luck!
I had the same answer from my dentist and doctor, I had Googled, and taken a photo and submitted it to Derm net. It confirmed the lichen condition, I have the plaque type, no lesions, diagnosed this year, dentist advised benatine toothpaste, mouth wash and spray, seems to be holding at the moment, gets excited when I’m stressed but I guess it’s part of the problem - I am a stressed person, I also chew xylitol chewing gum , much to my dentists disgust, but it seems to calm my tongue,
