Hello emdaxt! I think that any drug that has to do anything with the brain can cause memory loss. It is probably difficult to complete research because most people do experience memory loss as they age. I have been on Zoloft a long time and I do experience some memory loss but I am getting older. I hope this helps some. Take care, Sweetie Pie
thank you dear "sweetie pie"
Hello emdaxt. To the best of my knowledge, zoloft does not contribute to the loss of long term memory. Best of wishes to you,
As to causing short term memory loss, in long term use, to the best of my knowledge, that has not been a factor, as a side effect. Zoloft in general is a well tolerated drug. Best wishs,
thats a good question, i have been taking zoloft for years, my memory has gotten bad, so id like to know the answer myself... i have tried somany different anti- dep.and pychotic, meds.ionly take zoloft, abilify, lunesta 3mg.less pills than ever,i hate the unknown w/ these meds. which dont cause weight gain, withdrawl etc. i wasnt so concerned about my memory until recently..maybe we could get some good advice, take care.
My husband has been on 200mg of zoloft for 8 or 9 years , & has no memory loss at all. Just my thoughts...
Hi everyone. I know that its listed as a adverse side effect of the drug. but thats not the same as in long term use, and then having short gaps in loss of memory. I recall way back when, I when I was taking it, I did have some problems with memory but that was because the zoloft was being used as a combination and it turned out not to be the zoloft, but its interacting with the other drug.
I was on zoloft for almost seven years and dont recall having any memory loss. I dont think that it is a side effect.
